A passenger plane crashed in north Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province, native tv channel Tolonews reported Sunday, citing Zabihullah Amiri, an official of the provincial division of data and tradition.

The official added {that a} staff has been despatched to the Topkhana space of the Kuran-wa-Munjan district on the crashed plane.

New Delhi says it was not Indian

The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has clarified that the passenger airplane that crashed in Afghanistan’s mountains does not belong to any Indian airways.

“The unlucky plane crash that has simply occurred in Afghanistan is neither an Indian Scheduled Aircraft nor a Non Scheduled (NSOP)/Charter plane. It is a Moroccan-registered small plane,” the Civil Aviation Ministry stated on Sunday in a publish on X.

“More particulars are awaited,” it additional stated.

A neighborhood media outlet in Afghanistan had claimed that the passenger plane that crashed belonged to an Indian provider.

As per media reviews, the unlucky incident came about in a distant mountainous area of Afghanistan.
