Robert Downey Jr to make Broadway debut this year

He can be a part of a play based mostly on Pulitzer prize winner Ayad Akhtar’s work.
The Oscar-winning actor will play the lead in McNeal, the story of a author scuffling with “an estranged son, a brand new novel, outdated axes to grind and an unhealthy fascination with synthetic intelligence”, as per a report by The Guardian.
Theatre lovers will want to go to Lincoln Center Theater in New York to see Downey Jr’s efficiency on stage.
Directed by Bartlett Sher, the play will start its preview present on September 5 after which open on Monday, September 30.
Downey Jr had a big begin to the year when he received his first Oscar for best-supporting actor for his position in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
Speaking on his Broadway debut, the actor wrote on Instagram: “I’m making my Broadway debut within the new play MCNEAL at Lincoln Center Theater! I knew I needed to do Ayad’s new play earlier than I used to be finished studying it, then listening to Bart can be directing on the Beaumont theater sealed the deal. It’s been 40 years since I used to be final on ‘the boards’, however hopefully I’ll knock the mud off fast.
