2 min readThe United States on Friday (April 19, 2024) stated that three entities from China and one from Belarus had been sanctioned for allegedly supplying ballistic missile items to Pakistan.
“The United States is dedicated to strengthening the worldwide nonproliferation regime by taking motion to disrupt procurement networks supporting proliferation actions of concern. Today, we’re designating 4 entities pursuant to Executive Order 13382, which targets proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their technique of supply,” US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller in a press launch.
“These entities – three based mostly in the People’s Republic of China and one in Belarus – have equipped missile‐relevant items to Pakistan’s ballistic missile packages, together with its long-range missile program,” he stated.
The designated entities had been Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant; Xi’an Longde Technology Development Company Limited; Tianjin Creative Source International Trade Co Ltd; and Granpect Co. Ltd.
Miller stated they’ve engaged in actions or transactions which have materially contributed to, or pose a threat of materially contributing to, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or their technique of supply, together with any efforts to manufacture, purchase, possess, develop, transport, switch or use such items, by Pakistan.
