A mobile-first payment solution with unlimited transaction capabilities for varied applications
NPCI Bharat BillPay (NBBL) aims to process one billion monthly transactions within the next three to four years, according to Managing Director and CEO Noopur Chaturvedi. The platform currently manages 260 million transactions monthly.
The organization highlighted that its recently introduced internet banking platform, Banking Connect, will enhance internet banking experiences while providing regulators improved oversight of digital transactions and customer service benchmarks.
Initially unveiled by RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra at the Global Fintech Festival, Bharat Connect simplifies connectivity between banks and payment processors. The system offers a standardized interface across providers for user convenience.
Unlimited transactions
The mobile-optimized solution allows transactions of any value without restrictions. It incorporates robust security protocols such as real-time transaction tracking and automated dispute resolution. The platform requires minimal coding adjustments for merchants and employs universal APIs to minimize payment failures caused by technical disruptions.
Banking Connect currently operates with HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, YES Bank, AU Small Finance Bank, Federal Bank, and payment processors including Infibeam, PayU, Pinelabs, Cashfree, Razorpay, and others. Chaturvedi stated that Kotak Mahindra Bank and Axis Bank are expected to join the network shortly.
