HDFC Life recorded a claim settlement ratio of 99.7 % for individual death claims in FY26.

“Ensuring timely and smooth settlement of every legitimate claim remains our top priority,” said Sameer Yogishwar, Chief Operating Officer of HDFC Life.

“We are constantly improving our capabilities and leveraging technology to make the claim settlement process simpler, smoother, and more effective, thereby speeding up turnaround times,” he added.

The company is using digital workflows, automation, AI‑based validation, and analytics to streamline claims assessment and processing.

Claimants can now start and monitor claims online, submit documents electronically, and get timely updates at each step. Moving to digital claims reduces the need for in‑person visits and paper forms, which can be both emotionally and operationally taxing during stressful periods.

Through Project Inspire, HDFC Life is pushing ZeroTouch Processing (ZTP), FastTrack workflows, and real‑time payment enablement in the claims space.

To give claimants a smooth experience, HDFC Life offers several access points – visiting the nearest branch, contacting an agent, or logging into the company portal – as noted by the company.
