Performance milestones
The public sector bank’s shares delivered 61.6% returns over the past year and tripled in value over five years, outperforming Nifty50’s 71% gains during this extended period.
This growth follows strong quarterly results, including a 24% net profit increase driven by robust loan expansion and stable asset quality. The bank reported 15% growth in gross advances and expects full-year credit growth between 14-15%. The quarter also saw reduced slippages and improved recoveries.

Meanwhile, TCS shares declined 26.6% over the past year, impacted by reduced deal activity in its primary US market. The IT services firm continues to face hurdles like H1B visa restrictions while adapting to changing client demands through shorter-term AI-focused projects.
Reliance Industries maintains its position as India’s most valuable company, followed by HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel.
