Bharatpe Names ExPaytm Exec Ajit Kumar As New Cto

Fintech company BharatPe has named Ajit Kumar as Chief Technology Officer, effective October 23, 2025. This key leadership addition aims to enhance innovation and expand capabilities across its payment and financial technology services.

Seasoned Technology Executive Joins Leadership

Kumar brings 19 years of expertise, having previously served as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Paytm. There, he was instrumental in developing infrastructure for one of India’s largest digital payment networks.

His career includes senior roles at Snapdeal (Shopo), Times Internet, and SAP Labs, where he contributed to enterprise systems such as SAP HANA and NetWeaver.

Advancing Technology Solutions

As CTO, Kumar will lead technological advancement efforts, focusing on product quality, platform expansion, and system reliability for BharatPe’s payment processing, lending services, and merchant tools.

BharatPe CEO Nalin Negi emphasized Kumar’s qualifications: “His extensive experience in creating scalable payment architectures will help accelerate our technical capabilities as we evolve services for businesses and consumers.”

Leadership Transition During Expansion

Kumar assumes responsibilities following the departure of former CTO Pankaj Goel in May. His appointment comes as BharatPe strengthens its foundational systems to support continued growth.

Kumar shared his perspective: “I’m excited to collaborate with BharatPe’s team to build robust platforms that advance financial access and digital payment solutions nationwide.”

Strengthening Market Position

BharatPe continues to innovate in merchant financial services through UPI-based transactions, credit offerings, and integrated business tools.

This leadership appointment underscores the company’s commitment to technological advancement as competition in India’s fintech sector intensifies.
