Throughout history, shooting stars have symbolized hopes for wealth and success. Similarly, Oolka aims to empower millions through financial solutions. Established by Utkrishta Kumar, a former Meesho executive, the company’s name originates from the Sanskrit term for “meteor,” representing transformation and opportunity.
Launched just twelve months ago, this pioneering financial technology firm has developed India’s first autonomous AI platform for credit management. Supported by prominent investors including Lightspeed India and Z47 (previously Matrix Partners India), Oolka secured $7 million in initial funding to enhance its technological infrastructure.
Redefining Financial Guidance
The company’s foundation rests on addressing a common issue: most Indian borrowers intend to repay loans but need clearer insights and reliable assistance. Kumar’s solution leverages artificial intelligence that proactively intervenes rather than merely advising.
At its core is Dhruva, an intelligent system capable of direct intervention. This technology reviews credit histories, identifies errors, negotiates revised loan conditions with financial institutions (after user approval), and implements strategies to elevate credit scores.
“Dhruva operates with autonomy, not just dialogue,” Kumar explained. “It manages entire processes to strengthen users’ financial standing.”
Autonomous Financial Assistance
By authorizing the platform, users enable these digital agents to audit financial records, spot inconsistencies, and resolve issues independently. In practical applications, the system has secured favorable mortgage rates after central bank adjustments and rectified credit bureau errors by submitting formal disputes—all executed automatically post-consent.
Beyond credit optimization, the platform organizes payment schedules to prevent defaults through comprehensive financial visibility. Notably, the interface operates in nearly 100 regional dialects, ensuring broader accessibility nationwide.
Safeguarding Sensitive Information
Given the handling of confidential financial records, Oolka anonymizes personal identifiers—including PAN details and contact information—before AI analysis. The company confirms individual identities remain entirely separate from algorithmic processing, maintaining rigorous privacy standards throughout credit management operations.
This dual focus on automation and security aims to foster trust within digital financial ecosystems.
Building Banking Alliances
The platform currently collaborates with multiple financial institutions such as IDFC Bank, AU Bank, and Yes Bank, facilitating access to credit cards, term deposits, and unsecured loans.
Through cross-selling strategies leveraging user engagement patterns, the young enterprise has processed over ₹100 crore in repayments, reaching $1 million in annual revenue within its first fiscal year.
Navigating Fintech Innovation
As financial technology evolves in India, companies like AbleCredit and FinBox explore AI enhancements. However, Oolka differentiates itself by prioritizing autonomous decision-making over conventional advisory models.
“India’s economically aspiring millions require more than access—they need empowerment through familiar languages and trustworthy technology,” noted the founder.
Future Vision: Intelligent Wealth Management
The platform plans to expand its AI ecosystem for holistic financial oversight. Upcoming voice-enabled interactions will transform credit management into conversational yet actionable experiences.
Positioned where artificial intelligence meets economic accessibility, Oolka is transforming starry-eyed financial wishes into practical realities.
