PA-CB Authorization Expands Global Payment Capabilities
Razorpay has received RBI’s Payment Aggregator-Cross Border (PA-CB) approval, enabling it to process both incoming and outgoing international transactions with full regulatory compliance. This license places the fintech firm among select non-banking entities authorized for cross-border payments, supporting Indian exporters, software companies, freelancers, and global businesses seeking entry into the Indian market.
Simplified Global Transaction Platform
The platform now allows Indian enterprises to receive payments across 130+ currencies through cards, digital wallets, and bank transfers, claiming industry-leading 95% transaction success rates. International businesses can now establish Indian operations instantly—without requiring local entities—offering customers UPI, RuPay, EMI options, and numerous regional payment methods through a single integration point.
Major companies including Airbnb and Shopify currently utilize Razorpay’s services, with the company reporting 40% annual growth in foreign transaction revenue. Company leadership highlights their mission to streamline financial transfers between global markets like Mumbai and New York.
Compliance Achievement Precedes Public Offering
The PA-CB license requires strict financial compliance including net-worth benchmarks, segregated foreign exchange accounts, and anti-fraud monitoring. Razorpay’s latest financials show ₹3,783 crore in annual revenue (65% year-over-year growth) with ₹1,277 crore gross profits, though restructuring costs between U.S. and India operations temporarily impacted net results.
This regulatory approval positions Razorpay to capitalize on India’s digital export initiatives while establishing operational dominance—processing billions of transactions monthly amidst increased regulator scrutiny across the fintech sector.
Capitalizing on Rapid Market Expansion
India’s $100B+ international payments sector continues growing through freelance platforms and SaaS development. Razorpay’s integrated payment technology reportedly enables settlements 2-3 times faster than conventional banking systems.
With competitors pursuing similar approvals, Razorpay maintains its lead among non-banking payment providers. The company has raised $741 million ahead of anticipated public listing plans.
This regulatory endorsement strengthens Razorpay’s position as India’s premier international payment facilitator, connecting domestic merchants with global opportunities while enabling foreign companies to access India’s vast consumer base.
