Vertically integrated sportswear and athleisure firm Agilitas Sports has secured ₹225 crore in fresh funding from Nexus Venture Partners and Rainmatter. The round comprises a ₹200 crore follow‑on investment from Nexus and a ₹25 crore contribution from Rainmatter.
In 2023 Agilitas acquired Mochiko Shoes, a manufacturer that supplies footwear to global brands such as Adidas and Puma. Cricketer Virat Kohli transferred his One8 sports and lifestyle brand to Agilitas and invested ₹40 crore. Earlier, in December 2023, the company raised ₹100 crore (about US$12 million) from Nexus Venture Partners.
The new capital will be used for product research and development, design, expanding manufacturing capacity, retail growth, technology upgrades, talent acquisition, and brand building, according to the company’s press release.
Founded in 2023 by Abhishek Ganguly—formerly Managing Director of Puma India and Southeast Asia—Agilitas now operates across sports footwear, apparel, and accessories. It is building an end‑to‑end platform that links R&D, design, manufacturing, and retail to respond swiftly to consumer demand in India’s and overseas’ fast‑growing athleisure market.
Agilitas is also scaling Sportsyard, its large‑format multi‑brand retail chain that carries Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Asics, Puma, and Skechers. The first Bengaluru outlet became profitable within two months of opening, and the firm plans to launch ten additional Sportsyard stores during the current fiscal year.
Furthermore, Agilitas holds exclusive long‑term licensing rights to produce and distribute the Lotto sportswear brand across India, Australia, and South Africa. The company anticipates that e‑commerce—including marketplace sales and its own direct channels—will account for 25–30 % of total revenue.
