Internshala to Offer Paid International Internships to Study Abroad Aspirants
2 min readNew Delhi 19th July 2024: The career-tech platform, Internshala, announces its latest initiative to offer paid international internships to its study-abroad candidates in their destination country. Moving a step beyond just assisting with the admission process, Internshala is offering the first and only such program that assists students in securing admission to their dream university while also landing a paid internship in the same country.
Under this initiative, having international employers hiring through the platform, Internshala will ensure that students are able to receive an internship offer letter from a company operating in their destination country. This will allow aspiring students to gain international work experience and kickstart their global careers even before graduation while earning an assured stipend. They will be able to earn local work experience, develop their professional skills, and build a strong professional network, which is essential for securing future job opportunities in the country. Additionally, the paid internships provide financial support, making the study abroad experience more affordable and enriching.
All the students subscribing to Internshala Study Abroad and are able to secure admission to their desired university abroad will be able to benefit from this initiative. After completing the admission process, Internshala will connect students with local companies who are currently hiring from Internshala, facilitating a smooth transition into the professional environment of their host country.
Expressing his enthusiasm about this initiative, Shadab Alam, Head of Higher Education & Study Abroad at Internshala, stated, “According to a report by ICEF Monitor (source), 1.8 million Indian students are expected to pursue their studies abroad in 2024. With hundreds of thousands of students going abroad for higher education, only a very small fraction manage to secure admission in tier-1 institutions, which significantly enhances their career prospects through access to paid internships, better employment opportunities, and a strong alumni network. This leaves the majority of students, who gain admission to tier-2 and 3 institutions, at a disadvantage. To address this issue, Internshala has partnered with international employers in top study abroad destinations to provide these students with employment opportunities in their destination countries.”
He added, “With Internshala Study Abroad, we aim to transform the international education journey from a purely academic pursuit into a comprehensive career-building experience. This initiative aims to prepare students for successful global careers by combining education with practical professional development.”
