NIIMS Medical College & Hospital Successfully Hosts GENOME 2024
2 min readDelhi NCR, December 05th, 2024: NIIMS (Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences) Medical College & Hospital proudly announced the successful conclusion of GENOME 2024, a three-day inter-cultural event organized to showcase the creativity, talent, and stress among medical students and healthcare professionals by the students of 2020 batch (4th year Students).
The event commenced with a flagship ceremony where students left their colorful handprints to create a symbolic flag, signifying unity and creativity. The inauguration was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Dr. Ashutosh Niranjan, Dean, NIIMS Medical College, Dr. Arun Chowdhary, Deputy Dean, NIIMS Medical College, Dr. S. N. Gupta, Director, NIIMS, and Dr. C. S. Ahluwalia, Medical Superintendent, NIIMS Medical College & Hospital under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Chairman, Noida International University.
Dr. Ashutosh Niranjan, Dean of NIIMS, praised the students, stating, “GENOME 2024 has exemplified the synergy of creativity and science, offering a platform for students to unwind, innovate, and connect. Such initiatives are vital for shaping the future of compassionate and well-rounded healthcare professionals.”
The vibrant event witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 750 students, who showcased their diverse skills and talents through a unique and engaging series of activities. GENOME 2024 aimed to provide a platform for medical students and doctors to refresh their minds and strengthen bonds beyond academic and professional pursuits.
A highlight of the event was the unveiling of a DNA model, creatively crafted by the medical students with precise measurement and creativity. The model witnessed the scientific acumen and collaborative spirit of the students. The three-day event was full of activities like rangoli making, reel making, photo exhibition, clay modeling, poster making, quiz, creative writing, open mic, just a min, instrumental music & singing, fashion show, dance, face painting, debate, and many more with so many winners who were appreciated with certificates. The event concluded with a DJ night that made students happy and resoundingly successful.
Dr. Dhruv Rawal, Organizing Secretary of the event, said, “This was the first time that NIIMS Medical College organized its first GENOME 2024, which will be followed by medical students in the future as well. This event worked as a platform for students to showcase the hidden talent of budding medical professionals, which they must carry with their professions to get rid of stress and have a fresh start again.”
