New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology announces exclusive Scholarships for Indian Students

India, 14 September 2024: Education New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao and Te Pūkenga – New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST) announced an exciting new initiative exclusively for Indian students at an event hosted at the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi.

In a first-of-its-kind offering, NZIST unveiled scholarships worth more than NZ$200,000 for Indian students aiming to pursue higher education in the fields of science and technology in New Zealand.

The New Zealand Science and Technology Scholarships are available for Indian students enrolling in their first year of a full-time programme in New Zealand for 2025.

Successful students will experience a world-class opportunity at New Zealand’s globally recognised providers that deliver career-focused applied learning, connections to industry and local communities offering real-world learning experiences, and smaller class sizes enabling more discussion and exploration in a practical sense and learner support.

Ms. Jalil said Indian students make up the largest cohort of international students across New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology and add to the rich cultural diversity on its more than 80 campus sites throughout the country.

REAP NGO Partners with Target Publications to Dethron

Mumbai, September 14, 2024: A wave of excitement swept through Reach Education Action Programme (REAP) NGO in Kalwa as over 70 children from grades 1 & 2, along with their educators, prepared for a thrilling Maths workshop hosted by the esteemed Target Publications Pvt. Ltd., Thane. REAP delivers quality education to marginalized and underprivileged children with special focus on girls. As a token of their support, Target Publications provided each child with a new notebook.

The workshop, led by the proficient Miss Payal Mehta, a 14-year teaching veteran with experience in teacher training across India, was a delightful blend of learning and fun. Miss Mehta’s engaging session broke the ice with a creative activity related to Maths, followed by an application-based exploration of basic shapes and symmetry. Children not only participated but also explored new ways of learning about shapes. As Miss Mehta said, “Learning should be fun and engaging and the children certainly had a blast as they explored new ways of learning about shapes.”

The workshop sparked a newfound enthusiasm for Maths among the children as the resource person not only unveiled clever tricks to solve problems in seconds but also employed joyful activities to banish any fear of the subject.

Marwari Yuva Manch Siliguri honours veteran Sales

12^th September 2024, Siliguri / Kolkata: Marwari Yuva Manch – a professional youth group of Company Secretaries and Chartered Accountants – observed The Teacher’s Day 2024 in Siliguri by honouring Father S M Paul, a Salesian Priest and lecturer at the Salesian College Siliguri, and other educators in the region. Shri Sudhir Kumar, Inspector General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), North Bengal, did the honours at an event held in Siliguri recently.

A plaque, endorsed by Shri Nitin Gupta, Yuva Company Secretary President (2024-25), Shri Manish Agarwal, Yuva Chartered Accountant (CA), Secretary, Shri Binit Agarwal, project Chairperson and Ravi Sankar Malpani, Yuva CA, was formally handed over.

After completing postgraduate studies in Mass Communication and Journalism from Fordham University, New York, and Salesian University Rome, Father Paul has been a lecturer at prestigious institutions like St Anthony’s College Shillong, Calcutta University Journalism Department; as well as Assam Don Bosco University and Salesian College Sonada, Darjeeling, where he founded the Mass Communication and Journalism departments.

His professional contributions include being a reporter for South Asia Religious News (1981 to 1989), Union of Catholic Asia News (1989 to 2012), and Matters India (2013 onward); as well as being accredited to the Vatican Press Office (2007-2010).

Fr Paul was the editor of The Herald Weekly Calcutta (1989-91) and Director of Salesian News Agency Rome (1992-95). He was also the President for two terms at the national Catholic media institutions for radio television and cinema (1999 to 2004); as well as served at the Central Board Film Certification Kolkata (2006-8).

All India Marwari Yuva Manch is one of the largest volunteer organisations of youth in India with chapters in major cities.
