This innovative course aims to equip students with crucial life skills that will foster both their personal and professional growth.

    The launch event was honored by the presence of MAHE’s Honorable Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, who officially launched the course.     16th Sept 2024 Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India  Dr. MGR-Janaki College of Arts and Science for Women organized an Onam extravaganza at its college campus today (13 Sep.) with over 4,250 students participating and celebrating in the Onam festivities. Students from the M.A. Natya Department and the Entrepreneurial cell had organized and managed a series of dances and a lavish Onam Sadya (street food set up).

    “We have students from various states and countries studying in our college. We believe in oneness and our student committee organizes all important festivals across the southern states. The college, continuing its tradition of celebrating major festivals, be it Pongal (Makar Sankranti), Tamil New Year, Aadi Perukku, had recently organized a Tamil New Year and Vishu (Malayalam New Year) festival jointly in the month of April this year,” said Dr. Kumar Rajendran, Chairman, Dr. MGR-Janaki College of Arts and Science for Women.

    The college students planned the following dance performances to celebrate Onam. Starting with the Chanda Melam, and a precision by a disguise of King Mahabali, it was followed by the kai kotti kali, and the all-time favorite Mohini Aatam that represents and Puli Kali, Kerala nadanam which highlights Kerala’s rich culture and heritage. As God’s Own Country i.e., Kerala is synonymous with boats, a beautiful boat setting too was created to transport one to Kerala.

    The students inside the campus also sampled the well-known Kerala cuisine – Onam Sadya, spread over a series of counters under the Kerala food street banner. Students were encouraged to wear the Kerala style of sarees and participate in the celebrations.

    A lifelong resident of Woodbury, Connecticut, author Jon Quint attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in geology. After spending over thirty years in corporate America doing production planning work, he decided he had had enough of working for other people and started North Forty Pest Control Co., LLC. In 2022, he retired and sold the business to his grandson Jordan. He also kept honeybees for over thirty-five years, and at his peak, he had sixty-two hives. Currently, he still lives in Woodbury with his wife.

    “This book details my twenty-five years of dealing with nuisance wildlife complaints on just about everything, from the almost life threatening to the absolutely hilarious,” writes Quint. “It also talks about dealing with customers, some of whom have knowledge while some have absolutely no clue what is going on.”

    Bangalore, September 16, 2024: Canadian International School, Bangalore (CIS), is hosting the Terry Fox Run 2024, in association with the Terry Fox Foundation, at its campus in Yelahanka on Saturday, September 21. The run starts at CIS Campus, travels around the neighbourhood and the lake on Manchenahalli, Yelahanka, and finishes at CIS. The Terry Fox Run (TFR) is an annual non-competitive charity event held in numerous regions around the world in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope to raise money for cancer research. Hundreds of participants from various schools, colleges, and organizations across the city are expected to take part in this 5k run.

    The Run is open to all students, teachers, and parents across Bangalore, as well as other guests. Participants are welcome to walk, jog, bike, skate, or run at their own pace and registration for the run is free. Participants and others can also contribute to helping find a cure for cancer by making an online donation to the Terry Fox Foundation or by purchasing a TFR T-shirt. All proceeds raised will be donated to the designated charity here in India to further cancer research.

This Marathon of Hope, in 1980, inspired millions in Canada and worldwide to support the Terry Fox Foundation’s efforts to fight cancer.

    IIM Bodh Gaya Ends 3-Day MDP for Bihar Planning OfficialsIIM Bodh Gaya, in collaboration with the Government of Bihar, concluded the three days Management Development Programme (MDP) for District and State Level Officials of Planning and Development Department. The valedictory session of the MDP, was held on September 13, 2024. The programme aimed at equipping participants with the skills for efficient planning and management of projects contributing towards development of Bihar.

    Dr. Vinita S. Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, highlightead the importance of management training for officials and expressed the institute’s pride in providing this opportunity to the participants. A total of 23 participants attended the programme, including Regional Planning Officers, District Planning Officers, Assistant Directors, and Assistant Planning Officers. The participants were from Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Kosi, Magadh, Munger, Patna, Purnea, Saran, and Tirhut regions of Bihar.   • IIT Roorkee Advances Sugarcane Farming with Successful ODOP Workshop

    Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India – September 15, 2024: The Department of Design at IIT Roorkee, in partnership with the Design Innovation Centre and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Invest India, Ministry of Commerce successfully hosted a transformative two-day workshop under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative on September 6-7, 2024. The workshop, which drew 45 local farmers, was aimed at enhancing jaggery production through modern technology and innovative practices.
