Singer Sonu Nigam was forced to pause his concert at the Delhi Technological University’s (DTU) Engifest 2025 on Sunday after a group of unruly students allegedly threw stones and bottles at the stage.

Halting the show midway, he urged students to refrain from such action.

According to reports, nearly one lakh (100,000) students attended the concert.

Sonu Nigam told students as quoted by Hindustan Times: “Main aapke liye aaya hun yahan pe (I came here for you people) so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please aisa na kariye (don’t do this).”

He said his team members were getting injured due to the unruly act.

    Students express disappointment

Several students expressed disappointment about the chaos caused during the concert.

Geetika, a student from Daulat Ram College, told Hindustan Times, “It was shameful to see that just because of a few unruly students, a legend like him had to pause and request the audience to behave.”

Abhishek Ratra from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University told the newspaper, “Even in that moment, he remained humble and composed. Not once did he raise his voice.”

Sonu Nigam resumed his performance after the situation was settled.

Several videos of the concert have now gone viral.

In one of the videos, a head band could be seen thrown towards Sonu Nigam.

  • UPI Pay Alert: From April 1, THESE users will not be able to transact on Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm

If you use UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm, then there is an important update for you. A new rule will come into effect from April 1, 2025, under which mobile numbers linked to bank accounts, which are not active for a long time, will be removed from the UPI system.

This change will affect those users who have an old or closed number linked to their bank account. If you too have linked an old or closed number to the bank, then you may face problems in doing UPI transactions.

    Why was this decision taken?

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has taken this step to prevent cyber fraud and technical glitches. Many times, after a mobile number is closed, telecom companies allot it to another user. In such a situation, the risk of fraud on bank accounts linked to the old number increases. For this reason, NPCI has instructed banks and UPI apps to identify inactive mobile numbers every week and remove them from their system.

There may be a problem in UPI payment

For UPI transactions, it is necessary for your mobile number to be linked to your bank account. If your number has been switched off for a long time or has not been updated after getting a new SIM, then after April 1, you may face failure in UPI payment.

    How to avoid this problem?

If you want your UPI payments to continue without any interruption, then you need to follow these important steps:

    1. Check the mobile number linked to your bank account. If the number is closed or old, update it immediately.
    2. Contact your telecom provider (Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL) and confirm that the number is still registered in your name.
    3. If your number has been closed and has been allotted to someone else, then go to the bank and get a new number linked.
    4. Go to UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm) and update your number and bank details.

NPCI will update the data every week

NPCI has instructed all banks and UPI apps to update the list of inactive numbers every week. This means that if your number is not active for a long time, it can be automatically removed from the bank’s records. So always keep your number active and updated.

Is your number active for UPI or not? Check this way

    • Log in to your bank’s netbanking or mobile banking app and look for the registered mobile number.
    • Go to Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm and verify the number linked there.
    • If the number is closed, then immediately complete the process of linking a new number.

  • Exports Of Auto Components From India See Robust Growth

New Delhi: Showcasing India’s growing role in the global supply chain, exports of auto components have shown robust growth in the past couple of years. Also, major exports destinations for motorcycle parts are Germany, Bangladesh, the US, the UK, the UAE, Brazil, Turkey, Sri Lanka and others.

This highlights India’s increasing global market presence and reduced dependence on imports. According to industry experts, India’s auto component industry can target $100 billion in exports, as global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) reassess their supply chains and manufacturing strategies, presenting India with an optimal opportunity to establish itself as a top global destination.

The auto component exports reached $21.2 billion in FY24, marking a significant turnaround from a $2.5 billion deficit in FY19 to a $300 million surplus.

  • OnePlus Nord CE4 in 2025: Is it a smart move?

    OnePlus Nord CE 4 review

    OnePlus Nord CE 4 reviewIBT

When the OnePlus Nord CE4 launched in April 2024, it was a solid mid-range option under Rs 30,000, offering a sleek design, dependable performance, and ultra-fast 100W charging. Fast forward to 2025, and OnePlus has dropped its price further, offering a flat Rs 3,000 discount on its official store for a limited time.

But is it still a good buy, or should you look elsewhere? Let’s break it down.

Why buy the Nord CE4 now

With the price cut, the Nord CE4 now competes in the ₹20,000-₹25,000 range, making it a better deal than before. At this price, you’re getting flagship-level 100W fast charging, a smooth 120Hz AMOLED display, and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset—which still handles daily tasks and casual gaming with ease.

100W SUPERVOOC charging is still rare at this price point, letting you go from 0 to 100% in about 30 minutes. The 5,500mAh battery ensures all-day performance, making it a reliable choice for users who hate being tethered to a charger.

    OnePlus Nord CE 4 review

    OnePlus Nord CE 4 reviewIBT

OnePlus promises two major Android updates and three years of security updates for the Nord CE4. If you’re upgrading from a much older phone, this software longevity ensures it won’t feel outdated for at least two years.

The 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate still looks smooth and vibrant, making it a good option for streaming, gaming, and social media scrolling. It even gets HDR10+ support, which enhances video quality on platforms like YouTube and Netflix.

    Move on?

Newer mid-range devices in 2025 have flooded the market and intensified the competition by offering better chipsets (Dimensity 8300/9000 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3) and improved camera setups. If you’re looking for the absolute best performance and camera quality, newer options might be worth considering.

    OnePlus Nord CE 4 review

    OnePlus Nord CE 4 reviewIBT

While the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is still capable, newer processors in this price range offer better AI capabilities, power efficiency, and raw performance. If you’re planning to keep your phone for several years, investing in a 2025 chipset may be a better long-term move.

Should you buy the Nord CE4 in 2025?

If you’re looking for a well-rounded, reliable smartphone with ultra-fast charging, a smooth display, and solid performance, the Nord CE4—now at a lower price—still makes sense. It’s especially a great pick if battery life and charging speed are priorities.

However, if you’re after cutting-edge performance, better cameras, or a phone that will feel more future-proof, newer mid-range models from iQOO, Realme, and Xiaomi in 2025 might offer better value.

In short—if you want a great deal on a dependable OnePlus phone, grab it now before the discount ends. If you want the latest and greatest tech, it might be worth waiting for the Nord CE5 or other 2025 releases. But that would mean shelling out some extra cash as well.

  • Exponent Energy showcases 1MW rapid charging technology, plans 1.5MW launch • EVreporter

Exponent Energy announced its advancements in rapid charging following BYD’s unveiling of its 1MW charging technology for electric vehicles in China. In a recent tweet, the company showcased its 1MW rapid charging technology for buses and stated that it will introduce a 1.5MW rapid charging technology for EVs later this year.

In August 2024, Exponent Energy partnered with Veera Vahana, a bus manufacturer, to launch the Veera Mahasamrat EV, an intercity electric bus with rapid charging capabilities. To support this, the company deployed a 1MW rapid charging technology for electric buses in India.

Commenting on the development, Arun Vinayak, CEO and Co-founder of Exponent Energy, tweeted, “As a nation we need to have self-belief that we can build and own all layers of EV tech. We’ve historically been followers in ICE. We can’t repeat that with EVs. There was a lot of excitement on the BYD 1MW charging. But we’ve already got 1MW charging right here. We’re actually doing this on standard off the shelf cells which makes it 10X accessible. BYD has fantastic cell material science capability. Allowing them to do 10C. Stuff we need to catch up on in India. Optimistic that we will have an Indian cell partner soon.”

Founded in 2020 by Arun Vinayak and Sanjay Balyal, both former executives at Ather Energy, Exponent Energy has developed a battery pack (e^pack), charging station (e^pump), and charging connector (e^plug). These components enable a 15-minute rapid charge and a 3,000-cycle life warranty for EVs, using standard Li-ion cells.

Exponent Energy states that over 1,700 EVs in India use its technology, with more than 3.5 lakh rapid charging sessions completed, covering 20 lakh kilometers. The company has expanded operations to five cities: Delhi NCR, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.

The company has raised $44.6 million across Pre-Series A, Series A, and Series B funding rounds from investors including Lightspeed, Eight Roads Ventures, YourNest VC, 3one4 Capital, AdvantEdge VC, and the family office of Dr. Pawan Munjal, Chairman & CEO of Hero MotoCorp.

Notably, capitalising on emerging EV and electronic value chain through localisation today, India can look to tap into additional $15-20 billion exports in components such as battery management systems, telematics units, instrument clusters and ABS.

Global OEMs are major customers of India’s auto component industry, accounting for 20-30 per cent of exports.

In the German market, which is predominantly influenced by Eastern European suppliers, India emerges as a cost-effective alternative, offering components at prices up to 15 per cent lower.

In the US market, which is current dominated by imports from Mexico and China, Mexico offers components at 2-5 per cent lower prices due to reduced logistics and tariff costs. Conversely, Chinese components are 20-25 per cent more expensive compared to India, largely because of additional tariffs.

  • RBI Governor told this to the banks regarding submission of KYC documents of customers, said- this will benefit everyone

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra has given a special advice to the banks. In this, he has said that avoid calling your customers repeatedly for KYC (Know Your Customer) documents.

According to PTI news, the RBI Governor said that we need to ensure that once the customer has submitted the documents to the financial institution, we do not insist on getting the same documents again. The Governor reminded of the competition in the industry and said that banks need to improve customer service, not only because it is their duty to do so, but also because it is in their own interest.

Calling repeatedly was described as an unavoidable inconvenience

According to the news, the governor clarified that submitting documents to a financial regulator’s overseeing entity makes it possible for other people to access them from the same database. He described repeated requests as an inevitable inconvenience. He regretted that most banks and NBFCs have not allowed their branches or offices to access information from the central database, due to which customers have to face inevitable inconvenience. This can be facilitated in advance. It will be in the interest of all.

    Bank customers are constantly complaining

This comment from the central bank comes at a time when bank customers are complaining of inconvenience due to repeated requests to re-submit KYC. Such complaints are constantly coming on social media platforms. Malhotra warned banks against miscategorizing customer complaints. He said that doing so is a gross regulatory violation. He said that banks received 1 crore customer complaints in FY 2024 and if complaints against other regulated entities are included, this number will increase further. The governor said that 57 percent of these required mediation or intervention by the RBI Ombudsman. He said that you all will agree that this is a highly unsatisfactory situation and we need to pay immediate attention to it.

Banks need to improve their customer service

He advised the leadership of banks, from managing directors to branch managers, to take out time every week for grievance redressal. Malhotra said this is a must for all banks. He said if such issues are left unresolved, they can undermine consumer confidence and spoil the entire ecosystem. He emphasised that complaints should not be seen as a nuisance. It is important to avoid repeated complaints as they highlight systemic flaws.
