  • 10 Things We Learned This Week In LALIGA EA SPORTS

What has been going on in LALIGA this past week? Here are 10 of the top stories, from Real Madrid’s title celebrations to Girona FC’s Champions League qualification.

The results of Matchday 34 of LALIGA EA SPORTS meant several teams could start celebrating already, such as Real Madrid for winning the title or Girona FC for qualifying for the Champions League. Here’s all you need to know

Real Madrid, LALIGA EA SPORTS champions

The results in Matchday 34 mathematically confirmed Real Madrid as champions of the 2023/24 LALIGA EA SPORTS season. Carlo Ancelotti’s side defeated Cádiz CF 3-0 at the Bernabéu to move on to 87 points, a tally none of their challengers can match. It is the 36th time the capital city institution has won Spanish football’s top flight.

Girona FC will play in the Champions League next season

Girona FC also had a lot to celebrate this weekend, as they clinched the club’s first-ever Champions League qualification with a 4-2 victory over Catalan neighbors FC Barcelona. That result means Míchel’s side will play in Europe’s top club competition next campaign, and Los Blanquivermells are currently in second place and on course for Spanish Super Cup qualification too.

Isco, April Player of the Month

For the first time in his career, Isco has been named as the LALIGA EA SPORTS Player of the Month, with the Real Betis playmaker winning for his excellent performances throughout April. As well as scoring a goal in ELGRAN DERBI and assisting one in a victory over RC Celta, Isco consistently drove his team forward and has been recognized with this individual honor.

The rest of the LALIGA AWARDS winners for April

The other winners of the ‘LALIGA AWARDS, The Pride of our Fútbol’ were also revealed this past week. The Best Coach for April was Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti, the Best U-23 Player was Girona FC’s Miguel Gutiérrez, the Best Goal was FC Barcelona forward João Félix’s overhead kick against Cádiz CF and the Best Play was the goal Real Betis scored against RC Celta when Isco assisted Nabil Fekir.

CA Osasuna, Sevilla FC and Deportivo Alavés are staying up

As the end of the season approaches, several clubs in the bottom half of the table have already secured their place in the top division for next season. Following the Matchday 34 results, CA Osasuna, Sevilla FC, and Deportivo Alavés are now mathematically safe.

RC Celta takes a big step toward safety

They’re not safe yet, but RC Celta took a big step towards avoiding relegation this past weekend. The Galician side edged a thrilling game against Villarreal CF, winning 3-2 to mean they’re now eight points ahead of 18th-placed Cádiz CF. The Galician side has even moved ahead of Rayo Vallecano and RC Mallorca, currently sitting 15th.

Unai Simón earns another clean sheet

Athletic Club earned a 2-0 victory away at Getafe CF to keep their chances of earning Champions League qualification alive, and they even did so despite receiving two red cards in the game. The clean sheet was also important for goalkeeper Unai Simón, as he is closing in on the Zamora Trophy. His record of 0.94 goals conceded per game is the best in LALIGA EA SPORTS among eligible players.

Dovbyk remains top of the Pichichi standings

As for the individual prize for the best goalscorer, Girona FC’s No.9 Artem Dovbyk remains the leader as he moved on to 20 goals with his effort against FC Barcelona on Saturday. Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham is his closest pursuer and also scored in Matchday 34, meaning the Englishman has 18 goals.

Thibaut Courtois makes his long-awaited return

There was another reason for Real Madrid fans to celebrate this week, besides becoming LALIGA EA SPORTS champions. And, that was the return of Thibaut Courtois from injury. The Belgian started against Cádiz CF on Saturday for his first minutes of the 2023/24 campaign, having recovered from a pair of serious knee injuries.

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich will be decided at the Bernabéu

The first legs of the Champions League semi-finals took place last week and Real Madrid traveled to Germany to play out an enthralling 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich, with Vinícius scoring both of Los Blancos’ goals. That first-leg result means the tie will be decided in the second leg at the Bernabéu on Wednesday.

  • Girona FC’s Historic Champions League Qualification: What It Means For The Club

The Catalan club will play in the top UEFA competition next term, just three seasons after they were playing at LALIGA HYPERMOTION level.

SPAIN: Girona FC is a Champions League team. And, for most fans of Los Blanquivermells, it still hasn’t sunk in yet that the biggest clubs from across Europe will be visiting the Estadi Montilivi next season. Not only has the club qualified for Europe for the first time in their 94-year history, but they’ve done so at the highest level of UEFA competition.

By putting on a show in the second half against FC Barcelona on Saturday, defeating their regional neighbors 4-2 for the second time this season, Míchel’s side have achieved an objective that they only set mid-way through the season. Even when they started with six wins and one draw from their first seven matches of the season, the coach kept insisting that the primary objective was avoiding relegation. Only in January did he admit that making it into Europe had become a target too.

After the achievement was confirmed on Saturday, the coach spoke to the media about how much this means to the club, stating: “What we have achieved this year is incredible. It’s historic. It’s a wonderful thing. The project is great. We’ve been able to work and grow day by day. We’ve been working in a calm yet demanding way and with a squad of players who want to grow. That’s how we’ve gone from the second tier to the Champions League, and deservedly so. I hope everyone enjoys it.”

The fans certainly did enjoy it, with 14,000 celebrating the victory in the stands of the Estadi Montilivi and many more taking to the streets of the city center on Saturday night to rejoice on arguably the greatest night in Girona FC’s history.

From LALIGA HYPERMOTION in 2021/22 to the Champions League in 2024/25

As Míchel pointed out during his speech, it wasn’t all that long ago that this was a team in the second division. It was only in 2021/22 that Los Blanquivermells finished sixth in LALIGA HYPERMOTION under Míchel and achieved promotion through the playoffs. Playing an ambitious and direct brand of football, they then took LALIGA EA SPORTS by storm last season before ultimately finishing 10th, matching the club’s previous highest finish in the top tier.

Then, in 2023/24, Girona FC stepped up and reached the next level. The spine of the team remained the same, with the likes of Paulo Gazzaniga, David López, Aleix García, and Yangel Herrera. But, the new additions significantly improved the squad, even at a low cost.

In central defense, the veteran Daley Blind arrived on a free transfer to bring his experience to the back line, while Eric García arrived on loan from FC Barcelona to add another skilled passer at the back.

In midfield, the low-cost signings of Iván Martín and Portu proved to be extremely astute, as both players could play in several different positions in the middle and could get forward in attack, with Martín scoring five goals and Portu seven, including two in the win against Barça.

Then, there was the arrival of Artem Dovbyk, arguably the best transfer in all of LALIGA EA SPORTS last summer when looking at value for money. The Ukrainian striker has reached 20 goals and is the division’s top scorer, and has made everyone forget about the departure of Taty Castellanos, the Catalan side’s top scorer last season. With the Brazilian winger Sávio also coming in last summer, scoring eight goals and assisting nine alongside Dovbyk in attack, Girona FC’s summer 2023 recruitment was something special, and sporting director Quique Cárcel deserves every bit of praise.

Coach Míchel also deserves to bask in the glory of this masterpiece, as he has not only built a successful team but he has built an entertaining one too. Girona FC is scoring 2.15 goals per game this season and always plays on the front foot. This hasn’t been achieved by any sort of rigid system, as Míchel has used many different formations throughout the season, from a 4-1-4-1 to a 4-2-3-1 to a 3-4-3. Even with Girona FC having suffered many injuries along the way, the tactician has been flexible and has adapted, always finding solutions and achieving positive results.

At home, they’ve been particularly impressive and have won 14, drawn two, and lost one from their 17 games so far at the Estadi Montilivi, scoring 46 goals too, which is the most of any home side in the competition. The Girona FC faithful have had a lot to cheer about, then, and the biggest cheers of all came at full-time on Saturday when this modest club became a Champions League team for the first time.

Saudi Tourism Authority leads a delegation of 72 partners from the tourism sector to the Arabian Travel Market 2024 in Dubai.

The group is showcasing Saudi’s unique and diverse summer destination offering including pristine beaches, lush mountains and international events including the Esports World Cup.

Having welcomed 100m tourists in 2023, Saudi offers trade partners an unrivaled opportunity for sustained growth now.

INDIA: The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) marked the start of this year’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM) by showcasing Saudi’s spectacular summer destinations to trade partners – as the country’s tourism sector continues to go from strength to strength.

Representatives from Saudi’s booming tourism ecosystem kicked-off the Middle East’s biggest travel and tourism trade show aiming to build awareness of Saudi’s unique and diverse summer destination offering, strengthen and establish new trade partnerships, and celebrate the remarkable year-on-year growth of the Saudi tourism sector.

Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO and Board Member of STA, is leading the Saudi delegation of 72 partners from across the tourism sector, including top destination management companies, hoteliers, and airlines, to the show that started in Dubai today.

The delegation is aiming to showcase Saudi’s distinctive summer destinations to trade partners and consumers in the GCC region and underline Saudi’s status as a world-leading year-round tourism destination, with a strategic focus on priority markets like India and China.

Over the summer season, Saudi offers a unique and diverse range of activities and destinations for visitors including young families ranging from the pristine beaches of the Red Sea, the rich culture of Jeddah, and an events program like no other, including the Esports World Cup starting in Riyadh this July.

    Saudi Tourism Authority

Saudi’s mountainous regions including the tranquil and picturesque destinations of Aseer, Taif, and Al Baha also provide a refreshing escape during the summer season with temperatures in the low 20s. These serene retreats are ideal for adventure travelers who seek natural beauty, wildlife, hiking trails, and cool breezes.

Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO and Board Member of STA, said: “We’re delighted to be back at ATM this year to showcase Saudi as a unique summer destination, offering an action-packed events calendar, cool mountain regions for adventurer seekers, and pristine beaches for families and those looking to relax.

The MEA and APAC markets are hugely important in our overarching tourism strategy with a combined 23 million visits last year, and we will be focusing on growing those numbers.

Having welcomed over 100m tourists in 2023, Saudi is the land of now – offering growth and opportunities like no other to trade partners across the globe. And over the coming days, we look forward to building new long-lasting partnerships, sharing knowledge, and showcasing the wealth of opportunities Saudi has to offer.”

Building on the success of last year’s presence at ATM, where over 50,000 visitors were welcomed at the Saudi stand, this year’s exhibit is set across three floors with partners showcasing hundreds of affordable and luxury bookable products for destinations such as Jeddah, AlUla, Aseer, Riyadh, and the Red Sea.

Visitors can race a bike through the mountains of Aseer on a virtual simulator, download specially curated Saudi Summer playlists in partnership with Anghami, see an array of football memorabilia at the Saudi Pro League Museum, and enjoy live performances of traditional Saudi dancers, digital art displays from local artists. The diversity of Saudi will also be showcased with an interactive Saudi map and activities calendar.

The stand also showcases the new “Saudi Rewards” scheme, a first-of-its-kind national rewards program, offering free nationwide rewards for citizens and visitors to unlock points on tourism, shopping, dining, entertainment, and more. Saudi Rewards currently has a network of 17 partners and will have a dedicated booth at ATM with interactive activations for visitors to enjoy.

On the first day of the event, Mr Hamidaddin participated in a flagship panel event alongside other tourism leaders from the GCC to discuss collaboration and Saudi’s role in the region’s growing tourism sector.

Popular UAE radio station Dubai Eye also broadcast their afternoon show live from the Saudi booth where they discussed Saudi’s summer offering, while trailblazing Indian influencer Masoom Minawala Mehta and world-famous travel influencer brothers, Wael and Nael Abualteen, were on the stand creating content for their social channels.

STA and its partners are aiming to build on the successes of last year’s ATM, where more than 1,600 deals and more than 50 MoUs and strategic agreements were signed – resulting in 35,000 extra visits.

Saudi presents trade partners with an unparalleled opportunity for sustained growth. Notably, the country achieved a significant milestone by welcoming 100 million tourists in 2023. Together with partners, STA is building knowledge of Saudi’s destination offerings to consumers, to address barriers to destination knowledge and welcome more visitors than ever to the Kingdom.

This boom has continued in 2024, with the first quarter of the year witnessing a double-digit growth increase in tourists compared to the same period last year – bolstering Saudi’s position as a leading global tourism destination and driving progress towards its revised target of 150 million visits by 2030.

  • Sudha Reddy Stuns At Met Gala 2024 Pays Ode To Indian Craftsmanship & Heritage

Sudha Reddy at Met Gala 2024

HYDERABAD: Renowned philanthropist and businesswoman Sudha Reddy, hailing from Hyderabad, made a captivating appearance at the prestigious 2024 Met Gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 6th. Embracing the theme ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, her red-carpet ensemble was a true reflection of her profound understanding of the theme and the ‘Garden Of Time’ dress code, following her remarkable debut in 2021.

Clad in a custom creation from the esteemed couturier Tarun Tahiliani’s atelier, complemented by exquisite jewelry from Farah Khan Ali, Sudha Reddy presented a red-carpet moment that seamlessly blended timelessness with avant-garde flair. Capturing the fleeting essence of time, the monochromatic ensemble wasn’t just couture; it was a masterclass in storytelling and symbolism through fashion. It served as a metaphor for India’s artistic revival, mirroring the nation’s current creative and cultural boom and showcasing the beauty and depth of Indian craftsmanship and design.

Handcrafted by over 80 artisans over 4500 man hours, the ivory silk gown was a true testament to collaboration. The hand-corseted bodice featured a miniature self-portrait of Sudha holding a delicate rose, symbolizing the promise of hope and peace. The bodice itself was a marvel of meticulous craftsmanship, painstakingly rendered with thousands of French knots, intricate Indian couching embroidery, and shimmering silk threads. Adorning the bodice were hand-carved mother-of-pearl flowers, symbolizing luminosity and permanence, while 3D butterflies symbolized the cycle of life. The flowing drapery of the gown cascaded like unfolding flower petals, embodying the yearning for self-expression. Symbolizing themes of regeneration and transformation, a voluminous cape made of panels of embroidered tulle added a textural element to the hand-crafted mother-of-pearl flowers and crystal shoulder accessory designed by Miodrag Guberinić, known for creating accessories for Lady Gaga and Madonna.

The centerpiece of Sudha Reddy’s ensemble was undoubtedly the ‘Amore Eterno’ necklace, a stunning masterpiece from her collection. This exquisite piece was adorned with 25 exceptional solitaires, totaling over 180 carats, embodying the enduring legacy of the present and future generations of the Reddy family. At the core of the necklace lay a symbolic family tree crafted from four large, heart-shaped diamonds. The largest diamond, a 25-carat King of Hearts, honors Krishna Reddy, while the Queen of Hearts, a 20-carat heart, symbolizes Sudha Reddy. Two additional 20-carat hearts, known as the Prince of Knowledge and Prince of Treasures, represented their sons, Pranav and Manas. Completing this masterpiece were twenty-one luminescent round diamonds, symbolizing the shared experiences and cherished moments of Sudha-Krishna’s love story. Other jewels included a 20-carat heart-shaped diamond ring and a 23-carat yellow diamond ring.

Sudha Reddy’s elegance extended beyond her outfit with the off-white vintage Chanel clutch from the ‘Falling For Camellias’ collection and custom-made pearl-adorned stilettos. Stylist Gautam Kalra assembled a dream team: celebrity makeup artist Nina Ubhi accentuated her natural beauty with fresh dewy makeup and a clean messy bun accentuated with bejeweled hairpins from Amrapali nail artist Fleury Rose transformed her fingertips into miniature works of art with cascading white flowers and Swarovski crystals manicure that took 100 hours to create.

Sudha Reddy said, “It was an incredible evening at the Met Gala 2024! I’m grateful to have received the opportunity to celebrate culture, community, and creativity on such a grand scale, once again. Collaborations are what make fashion so exciting! Thank you to everyone who made this possible, from the visionary designers to my management and my glam team.”

Tarun Tahiliani said, “It has been a pleasure to collaborate with Sudha Reddy on the custom-made MET outfit and translate the multi-layered theme into a work of art. Sudha’s self-portrait on the corset, combined with our signature draping technique and handcrafted embroideries and embellishments, conjures imagery of a blossoming garden, inviting the viewer to embrace authenticity in an ever-changing world. A metaphor for India as a sleeping beauty that is reawakening, the outfit celebrates the timelessness of heritage workmanship, transcendence of temporal boundaries, and the eternal cycle of renewal and regeneration.”

Farah Khan Ali said, “Crafting the ‘Amore Eterno’ necklace wasn’t just about finding rare diamonds; it was about capturing the essence of love and time. I meticulously searched various corners of the world for these natural diamonds which took months of meticulous planning, designing, high-precision laser cutting, and polishing to create the final result. Boasting 180 carats of natural diamonds, Sudha’s ‘Amore Eterno’ necklace mirrors life’s cyclical dance, where the past, the present, and the future converge.”

  • CrowdStrike Unifies ASPM With CNAPP To Stop Breaches From Code To Cloud

    CrowdStrike

BENGALURU: CrowdStrike (Nasdaq: CRWD) today announced the general availability of CrowdStrike Falcon® Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) as an integrated part of CrowdStrike Falcon® Cloud Security. With this release, CrowdStrike delivers on its bold vision to simplify and scale modern cloud security through a single, unified platform so Cloud SecOps can operate with the speed and agility of DevOps.

Cloud intrusions have surged by 75% over the past year, increasing the pressure on SecOps teams that are already grappling with a shortage of skilled personnel and the inefficiency of numerous disjointed tools. With the native integration of ASPM into Falcon Cloud Security, CrowdStrike is driving consolidation across SecOps with a unified platform that enhances risk visibility and protection across the entire cloud estate, from infrastructure to applications and the services running inside of them, enforcing comprehensive, code-to-runtime security. With this release, CrowdStrike is advancing the market and setting a new standard for what customers can expect from a comprehensive CNAPP.

“The complexity of cloud environments and rapid pace of changes creates misconfigurations and vulnerabilities that adversaries increasingly exploit. Disjointed point products and fragmented platforms create gaps in security defenses that can lead to a breach,” said Karan Gupta, head of engineering, at CrowdStrike. “With the integration of Falcon ASPM with Falcon Cloud Security, we’re providing one platform that provides comprehensive risk visibility and workload protection across the entire cloud estate. This revolutionizes CNAPP with integrated ASPM and provides organizations with a blueprint that bridges the gap between their security and development teams.”

The Strategic Leader in Cloud Security Sets a New StandardCrowdStrike unifies the critical CNAPP capabilities that define modern cloud security in a single, cloud-native platform, delivering the deep visibility, integration into DevOps workflows, and rapid incident response capabilities teams need to manage and respond to incidents and secure complex cloud infrastructure and applications with priority and context.

Validated as a market leader by multiple industry analyst firms, CrowdStrike extends its strategic leadership and sets a new standard for modern cloud security with unified CNAPP capabilities from a single agent and single platform that delivers:

Business Threat Context: SecOps teams can immediately understand and prioritize the high-risk threats and vulnerabilities that target sensitive data and the mission-critical applications that are the foundation of an organization.

Deep Runtime Visibility: With comprehensive monitoring across runtime environments, security teams can rapidly identify security vulnerabilities across cloud infrastructure, workloads, applications, APIs, GenAI, and data to eliminate security gaps and stop breaches.

Runtime Protection that Stops Breaches: Fueled by industry-leading threat intelligence, Falcon Cloud Security detects and prevents cloud-based threats in real-time, delivering the security outcome customers need most – stopping the breach.

Industry Leading MDR and CDR: By unifying industry-leading managed threat hunting with deep visibility across cloud, identity, and endpoints, CrowdStrike’s Cloud Detection and Response (CDR) speeds detection and response across every stage of a cloud attack, even as threats move laterally from cloud to endpoint.

Shift Left Security: By embedding security early in the application development lifecycle, Falcon Cloud Security enables teams to preemptively address potential issues, streamlining the development process and boosting efficiency across development and security operations.

“With CrowdStrike Falcon ASPM, we’ve gone from multiple tools, high complexity and spending a lot for poor visibility to a single pane of glass where we can do everything with one platform,” said Jason Deluce, director of information technology, Porter Airlines. “Cybersecurity is key to scaling the company and we know CrowdStrike is there for us.”
