Bob Lee, Cash App creator and ex-CTO of Square, stabbed to death

Bob Lee, founder of Cash App and present Chief Product Officer of cryptocurrency firm MobileCoin, has been stabbed to death in a stunning incident right here.

MobileCoin confirmed to ABC7 News that Lee was killed in a deadly stabbing in San Francisco on Tuesday.

The San Francisco Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing close to the 300 block of Main Street in SoMa.

Lee was taken to a hospital however succumbed to his accidents. No arrest has been made to date within the case.

Before his present job, Lee was CTO of digital cost app Square. He had additionally labored at Google early in his profession.

“Lee was a drive of nature. Helped to start Android and CashApp into our world. Moby was his dream: a privateness defending pockets for the twenty first Century. I’ll miss him day-after-day,” Joshua Goldbard, CEO of MobileCoin, was quoted as saying within the report.

At Google, Lee centered on the core library growth within the first few years of Android.

He then joined Jack Dorsey-run Square — the cost firm that later turned Block — to develop the Android app. He turned the corporate’s first CTO and additionally created Cash App.

“It’s actual. Getting calls. Heartbreaking. Bob was instrumental to Square and Cash App. STL man,” Dorsey, CEO of Block, posted on social media.

Also often called ‘Crazy Bob’, he was an investor in tech startups like Elon Musk-run SpaceX, Clubhouse, Tile, Figma and others.

“So unhappy to hear of @crazybob’s premature passing. I first met him in summer season 2006. We remained linked over time and he was an early supporter of Figma. It’s so laborious to imagine he’s gone,” Figma CEO Dylan Field posted on Twitter.
