Foxconn to start manufacturing iPhones in Karnataka by April 2024

Taiwanese electronics contract producer Foxconn plans to start manufacturing iPhone items by April 2024 at its proposed Devanahalli plant in Bengaluru.

The Karnataka authorities would hand over the required land to the corporate by July 1, mentioned MB Patil, the State’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries.

The firm has already paid 30 per cent of the price of the land (₹90 crore) to the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB).

It goals to full the challenge in three phases and has set a goal of manufacturing 20 million items yearly, mentioned the federal government.

“The recognized 300 acres of land at ITIR of Devanahalli can be handed over by July 1. Along with this, the federal government would guarantee offering 5 mld of water, high quality energy provide, street connectivity and different infrastructure services. The firm has been requested to present the small print of the ability units it seeks in staff. Accordingly, steps might be taken to facilitate coaching programmes for eligible candidates to make them employable,” Patil mentioned.

Foxconn representatives George Chu Paul Liu, Tonn Liu, Simon Song and Bharath Dandi met with Patil and the brand new IT/BT Minister Priyanka Kharge, on Thursday in Bengaluru. It is claimed that the ₹13,600-crore challenge is predicted to create 50,000 job alternatives.
