Sabi Sabi Collection to launch Sandringham Private Game Reserve on August 1

The Sabi Sabi Collection revealed that Sandringham Private Game Reserve, a fresh luxury safari lodge in South Africa’s Greater Kruger area, will open its doors to visitors in August 2026. Located on the Timbavati River, adjacent to the Timbavati and Thornybush reserves, the site is the result of a five‑year habitat renewal effort that turned a former hunting ground into a conservation‑focused eco‑tourism retreat.

The reserve will host two upscale safari camps—N’weti Camp and Shisaka Camp—each with six suites. Shisaka Camp adds two private villas, and Sandringham House, a fully serviced four‑bedroom exclusive‑use villa, caters to families and multi‑generational travelers.

Lodging options combine luxury with the surrounding nature, from traditional safari‑style canvas suites to modern forest‑themed lodges nestled in a Tamboti wood.

He remarked, “This is likely one of the final pristine tracts of African bushveld remaining in the Greater Kruger that can still be accessed.”

He added, “Seeing the wildlife recover and realizing their habitat is no longer endangered captures our mission—a focus we’ve nurtured for roughly four decades.”

In line with its conservation and community goals, the reserve has teamed up with the Tracker Training Academy to offer tracking skills to youth from nearby areas. It also works with Bushwise, the Ranger Training Academy, and WildEarth to advance wildlife education and conservation projects.

Wyndham noted that the reserve delivers a unique safari experience in the Greater Kruger setting. “Guests are met by a vast body of water upon arrival. We are fortunate to have a sizable dam on the Timbavati River, a key perennial waterway crossing Kruger National Park, offering breathtaking vistas, especially with the Drakensberg mountains looming behind. A sense of calm settles in immediately.”

The reserve hosts sizable elephant herds, abundant birdlife and varied wildlife, plus walking safaris that let guests connect closely with the terrain. It also boasts eight major drainage channels, mature native trees and breeding vulture colonies, giving nature lovers and photographers superb opportunities.
