150 Scheduled Caste Youth Receive Skill Development Certificates Under Joint Initiative of BARTI and Science and Technology Park

Satara: To boost job prospects and financial independence for Scheduled Caste youth, the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), Pune, teamed up with the Science and Technology Park (STP), Pune, to host a Skill Development Certificate Distribution and Success Stories event in Satara. At the ceremony, 150 SC participants from Maharashtra who finished various tech‑focused training programs received their certificates.
The event took place at the modern Incubation Centre in the CIII Building of the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Research Foundation, situated on the Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Science (YCIS) campus at Powai Naka, Satara. It was conducted under the supervision of Ms. Deepa Mudhol‑Munde (IAS), Director General of BARTI, and Dr. Rajendra Jagdale, Director General and CEO of the Science and Technology Park.
Through the initiative, eligible SC youths from Maharashtra accessed complimentary, industry‑relevant training in sought‑after fields such as Graphic Designing, Social Media Executive, IT Help Desk Assistant, GST Assistant, and Desktop Publishing (DTP). Certificates were awarded to every participant who finished the course. A number of trainees who have landed jobs at reputable firms or launched their own ventures also recounted their success stories, motivating their peers.
Dr. S. T. Salunkhe, Principal of Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Science (YCIS), chaired the programme and urged attendees to continually upgrade their abilities and keep pace with technological advances to stay competitive in employment.
Chief guests Dr. Baban Jogdand, Head of BARTI’s Skill Development Department in Pune, and Mr. Umesh Ghule, Deputy Commissioner of the Social Welfare Department in Satara, attended the event. They outlined several government schemes supporting skill development, self‑employment, and financial aid for SC youth, encouraging participants to leverage these resources for self‑sufficiency.
Also present were Ms. Pragya Mohite, Office Superintendent at BARTI; Mr. Mahesh Gawai, Project Manager, BARTI; and Mr. Shrikant Kundan, CEO of the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Research Foundation.
Coordination was handled by Mr. Vaibhav Nimgire, Manager of the Science and Technology Park; Mr. Abhijit Pawar, Manager of the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Research Foundation; and Dr. Manoj Kulkarni, Training Coordinator. The organizers are confident that these 150 newly skilled professionals will make a notable impact on Maharashtra’s digital and industrial landscapes while building a solid base for their own prosperous futures.
