Adani Energy Solutions bags Rs 18,000 crore project in Q3 FY26, expands transmission network

Adani Energy Solutions Limited announced significant operational achievements during the third quarter of FY26, with the Adani Group company securing a major transmission project valued at approximately Rs 18,000 crore. This development coincides with the continued expansion of its transmission infrastructure.
The KPS III (Khavda South Olpad) HVDC project aims to facilitate the transfer of 2,500 MW of renewable energy from Gujarat’s Kutch district to Olpad near Surat. Company officials emphasized this project’s critical role in enhancing India’s renewable energy transmission capabilities.
Concurrently, AESL completed the North Karanpura Transmission Line project spanning roughly 300 circuit kilometers. This expansion brings the company’s total transmission network to 27,901 circuit kilometers, with transformation capacity reaching 1,18,175 MVA. Recent regulatory filings indicate the transmission order book now stands at Rs 77,787 crore.
The distribution segment demonstrated improved efficiency, with losses decreasing to 4.22% in YTD FY26 compared to 4.91% during the same period last fiscal year. Operational reliability remained consistently high at 99.998% as measured by the Average Supply Availability Index, with additional improvements observed in SAIDI, SAIFI, and CAIDI metrics.
Mumbai’s distribution operations recorded 2,487 million units sold during the quarter, maintaining robust collection efficiency of 101.75%. Subsidiary Mumbai Utilities Limited reported substantial growth, with unit sales increasing 57% YoY to 371 million units.
The smart metering division installed 18.88 lakh meters during Q3 FY26, bringing the cumulative total to 92.5 lakh installations. Company projections indicate this momentum will exceed the target of one crore meter installations by FY26-end. Current order books reflect commitments for 2.46 crore smart meters, representing potential revenue of Rs 29,519 crore against a national market opportunity of 103 million meters.
Financial results showed strong performance with total income rising 16% YoY to Rs 13,793 crore in H1 FY26. Q2 FY26 revenues reached Rs 6,767 crore, marking 6% growth driven by stable operations and increased capital expenditure.
