2 min read

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the promotion of seven Chief General Managers (CGMs) to Executive Director (ED) roles across multiple public sector banks, following recommendations from the Department of Financial Services.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) CGMs Amit Kumar Srivastava, Amresh Prasad, and Sunil Kumar Chugh will assume ED positions at PNB, Union Bank of India, and Canara Bank, respectively.

Central Bank of India’s CGM E. Ratan Kumar and Bank of India’s CGM Pramod Kumar Dwibedi were elevated to ED roles within their respective institutions.

Bank of Baroda’s CGM Mini TM moves to Indian Bank as ED, while Canara Bank’s CGM Prabhat Kiran takes up the ED position at Bank of Maharashtra.

These appointments follow the Financial Services Institutions Bureau’s August 2025 recommendations of 11 candidates for ED roles, contingent on vacancies during the 2025-26 panel year. The Bureau interviewed 80 candidates from nationalized banks between July 19 and August 4, 2025, prior to finalizing the shortlist.
