AIBOC to hold crucial 2-day high-level meetings in Guwahati
2 min readThe All-India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC), the largest banking sector trade union, will convene a critical two-day series of strategic meetings starting Wednesday in Guwahati.
Senior banking union leaders from across India will gather to formulate strategies for organizational development and address pressing concerns affecting members’ professional and financial welfare, according to an official AIBOC release.
Representing approximately 3.5 lakh officers from nationalized banks, legacy private sector institutions, and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), AIBOC’s deliberations will commence with its 104th Executive Committee meeting on October 29, extending into the following day. The session will review financial statements, assess operational developments, and address standard constitutional matters under the organization’s bylaws.
Participants will receive updates on recent discussions with the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and the Chief Labour Commissioner (CLC) held since the last meeting, the statement confirmed.
Subsequently, the union will conduct its 2nd Working Committee Meeting on Thursday, expanding participation to include state committee presidents alongside Executive Committee members and state secretaries. Leadership representation from across India will collaborate to establish an operational framework and determine the organization’s immediate action plan.
The assembly will prioritize two essential advocacy points: campaigning for a five-day banking work week and resolving pending matters from the 8th Joint Note settlement. “As the registered voice of banking officers under the Trade Unions Act 1926, AIBOC maintains unwavering commitment to protecting service conditions and career advancement opportunities for banking professionals,” the release emphasized.
