Net interest income (difference between interest earned and interest expended) in the reporting quarter was up about 16 per cent y-o-y at ₹3,422 crore (₹2,944 crore in the year-ago period).  

Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) posted a record quarterly net profit of ₹1,779 crore during Q3FY26, driven by robust growth in net interest income, higher non-interest income, and reduced provisions for standard/restructured assets.

The Pune-based public sector bank had recorded ₹1,406 crore net profit in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Its board approved an interim dividend of 10% (₹1 per share of ₹10 face value) for FY26.

Net interest income grew 16% year-on-year to ₹3,422 crore (up from ₹2,944 crore in Q3FY25). Other income components—including fees, treasury gains, and recoveries from written-off accounts—increased 18% y-o-y to ₹933 crore (₹788 crore).

MD & CEO Nidhu Saxena highlighted a strong corporate loan pipeline of ₹50,000-55,000 crore under sanction, with ₹20,000 crore at various disbursement stages. He projected stable asset quality going forward.

Provisions for NPAs rose to ₹660 crore (₹593 crore), while provisions for standard/restructured assets dropped significantly to ₹79 crore (₹244 crore). Net interest margin dipped to 3.86% (3.98% in Q3FY25) as funding costs edged up to 4.22% (4.19%) despite a decrease in lending yields to 8.92% (9.27%).

Gross NPAs improved to 1.60% of advances by December 2025 (1.80% in December 2024), while net NPAs stood at 0.15% (0.20%). Gross advances expanded 20% y-o-y to ₹2,73,502 crore, with retail, agriculture, and MSME loans growing 20% and corporate loans 14%.

Total deposits climbed 15% to ₹3,21,661 crore by December 2025. CASA deposits marginally improved to 49.54% (49.28%).

The bank’s shares closed at ₹65.08 on BSE, up 1.96% from the previous session.
