Chennai-based laundry-tech platform Dhobi G has raised ₹1.5 crore from Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), fueling its expansion in campus laundry services nationwide.
Launched by engineering graduates Ravi Ranjan (CEO), Ankur Gupta (COO), and Daksh Sabharwal (CMO), the tech-driven service provides professional laundry management to academic institutions through an automated platform.
The investment will drive the company’s entry into five new campuses with plans to serve over 20,000 students within a year. Their automated logistics and dependable operations differentiate the venture in India’s fragmented laundry market.
Originating from the founders’ personal challenges with hostel laundry, the startup has scaled into a robust tech solution. IOB’s backing reflects market confidence in innovation-driven service models emerging across India.
Funds will bolster Dhobi G’s Chennai operations while expanding to Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and northern Indian cities. The company positions itself to become the preferred organized laundry provider for student communities nationwide.
For educational institutions and students, Dhobi G exemplifies how technology and operational excellence are reshaping essential services in India’s dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem.
