Funding Alert
Ekatra Retail Ventures Pvt. Ltd., a firm that blends design, technology and content, has secured ₹10 crore in strategic funding, valuing the company at ₹100 crore, just 100 days after its launch. The investment came from strategic partners and builds on the ₹10 crore the founders contributed during two years of pre‑launch development. The new capital will be used to strengthen the brand, expand retail presence and drive product innovation in India and abroad.
The venture was founded by Pavitra Gandhi, who has now welcomed Ekta Kapoor and Sussanne Khan as co‑founders of Ekatra Jewels. Sussanne Khan also serves as Co‑Founder and Design Director. Ekatra controls its entire value chain through a farm‑to‑finger approach, cultivating and cutting its own Type IIa lab‑grown diamonds – a rare category that makes up roughly 2 % of all diamonds. The company holds four patented cuts, including the 108‑facet Shristi Ratna™, and has developed proprietary hollow‑gold construction technology.
Pavitra Gandhi, Founder of Ekatra Jewels, commented:
“Ekatra was created on the belief that the future of luxury lies in owning every step of the process – from innovation and craftsmanship to the consumer experience. This investment validates our vision and gives us the momentum to scale thoughtfully, expand globally and continue crafting jewellery that merges technology, design and everyday elegance.”
Vasuki Punj, Founder and Strategic Investor, added:
“From the outset we aimed to build a differentiated business grounded in strong fundamentals, not merely chase short‑term milestones. This backing reflects confidence in our long‑term vision, our integrated model and our ability to create a globally relevant luxury brand rooted in India.”
Ekta Kapoor, Co‑Founder of Ekatra Jewels, said:
“Every industry reaches a point where convention must give way to reinvention. I believe luxury is at that juncture today. Ekatra isn’t simply entering the category; it is poised to challenge it through innovation, design and a fresh perspective on fine jewellery. The brands that will shape the future are those daring enough to rewrite the rules – and that is exactly what we are building.”
Sussanne Khan, Co‑Founder and Creative Director of Ekatra Jewels, spoke about her new OH MY GOLD collection:
“With the OH MY GOLD line we wanted to redefine what statement jewellery feels like. The collection rests on a single bold idea: jewellery can appear chunky, opulent and luxurious while using far less gold. By combining real gold, smart engineering and Indian‑made lab‑grown diamonds, we have produced pieces that make a striking impression yet remain light and comfortable for everyday wear. It delivers the look of heavy jewellery without the weight.”
Ekatra has amassed a library of over 5,000 designs tailored for India, the United States and the Middle East, positioning the company to build a globally relevant luxury brand from India.
