91 Telangana Educators Empowered Through Government’s IDE Workshop on Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Hyderabad, November 01, 2025: A transformative two-day Capacity Building Workshop on Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship (IDE) for education officers concluded at Vardhaman College of Engineering, equipping 91 Telangana educators — including DEOs, DSOs, and DIET faculty — with cutting-edge pedagogical approaches.

This regional initiative, organized under the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) in partnership with AICTE, Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), NCERT, School Innovation Council (SIC), PM SHRI Schools, and the Wadhwani Foundation, represents a strategic push to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship into school curricula across the nation.

“The future belongs to those who can think differently,” emphasized Prof. Ravindra, Principal of Vardhaman College of Engineering, during the closing ceremony. “Through IDE, we’re transforming educators into architects of tomorrow’s workforce — one that doesn’t just respond to change but drives it.”

Wadhwani Foundation facilitators Dr Rajesh Kandula and Mr Shaik Waseem delivered dynamic, interactive sessions that bridged theory and practice. Participants reported breakthroughs in understanding how to foster creative problem-solving in classroom settings.

Dr Indrani Bhaduri, Head of PARAKH at NCERT, showcased how innovative teaching methodologies can be systematically assessed through the PARAKH Dashboard, creating accountability while encouraging creative approaches.

Mr Aditya Ravi Shankar from T-Works extended an invitation to participants: “Our prototyping facilities offer the missing link between classroom concepts and tangible solutions — we’re ready to support educational innovators.”

The workshop launched nationally with a virtual inauguration by AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam, marking the beginning of a three-phase training initiative reaching 1,500 education officers countrywide.

“This bootcamp represents a paradigm shift in Indian education,” Prof. Sitharam noted. “By making Vardhaman College a Nodal Centre, we’re tapping into Telangana’s vibrant innovation ecosystem.”

The curriculum featured hands-on learning through site visits to Vardhaman College’s Incubation Centre and the Centre for Research and Innovation Foundation (VCECRIF). Educators interacted with student innovators and examined breakthrough prototypes including assistive devices for the visually impaired and sustainable water purification systems.

Participants gained practical insights from startups like GetFund, InsirraForge, and Team Nivaran — winners of the IC 2025 Hackathon — learning how academic concepts translate into viable business solutions.

As part of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for educational reform, the IDE initiative is being rolled out across 26 locations in 21 States and UTs, with additional phases scheduled for November to broaden its national impact.

The Hyderabad workshop demonstrated how strategic partnerships between government bodies, educational institutions, and innovation hubs can transform traditional teaching paradigms, positioning Indian schools as incubators of the nation’s innovative potential.
