A significant milestone was celebrated on 26 November with the inauguration of Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree. President Tharman Shanmugaratnam officially opened the property, unveiling its Wishing Wall and previewing the inaugural Rainforest Festival, which welcomes visitors starting today.
Nestled within Mandai Wildlife Reserve, this property represents a landmark achievement as Banyan Group’s 100th resort and its Singapore homecoming. Owned by Mandai Wildlife Group, it stands as the first resort integrated within a capital city’s premier wildlife and nature destination.
The opening celebration featured guided explorations of the resort’s sustainable design elements and biodiversity corridors. Nearly 100 beneficiaries from President’s Challenge initiatives attended an early festival preview, with additional invitations extended to over 2,000 individuals throughout the event week.
The program included a special film chronicling the hospitality group’s evolution from its Phuket origins to this Singaporean landmark, followed by a dialogue featuring the organization’s founders. A City in Nature discussion session examined urban development through ecological design and conservation leadership.
Evening festivities honored partners with performances by cultural artists, culminating in a heartfelt musical finale. The Rainforest Festival runs through 3 December 2025, featuring nature trails, artisan exhibits, and family-friendly activities, with all admission proceeds benefiting charitable initiatives.
Located on 4.6 hectares of preserved greenery, the resort features biophilic architecture elevating rainforest immersion while protecting mature native trees. Accommodations include canopy-inspired treehouses and vertically designed suites certified for outstanding energy efficiency.
Signature dining at Forage restaurant highlights hyper-local ingredients through its rooftop garden-to-table concept. Wellness amenities integrate seamlessly with nature, including spa pavilions inspired by native wildlife and a rainforest-themed adventure playscape for young guests.
This urban sanctuary offers direct access to Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s attractions, including Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, and Asia’s newest wildlife experiences. Staying guests enjoy exclusive park benefits alongside specially curated nature activities.
