Accor has confirmed the addition of Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas to its luxury lineup in India. Planned to open in 2031, the property will sit in the Shivpuri Range of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.
Covering roughly 16 acres, the resort will offer 220 rooms, four restaurants, 3,000 sq m of meeting space, a spa, fitness centre, pool, children’s club and a selection of tailored guest experiences.
Nestled beside the Himalayan foothills and the rich ecosystem along the Ganges, the design will echo the local nature and culture. It aims to attract high‑end leisure guests and meet rising interest in wellness, adventure travel, weddings and MICE in Rishikesh.
Known worldwide for spirituality, yoga and wellness, Rishikesh is also fast becoming a luxury leisure hotspot, thanks to its links with Delhi‑NCR and other key markets. Accor noted the project responds to growing demand for immersive, nature‑focused, experience‑driven travel in the Shivpuri‑Rishikesh area.
Commenting on the agreement, Ranju Alex, CEO of Accor South Asia, stated, “Another significant turning point in the strategic growth of the Fairmont brand in India is the signing of Fairmont Rishikesh, Himalayas. One of the most alluring luxury travel locations in the nation is Rishikesh, where spirituality, wellness, and immersive travel come together. This initiative demonstrates our dedication to providing outstanding hospitality to locations that provide genuine and significant experiences while bolstering our premium portfolio throughout the area.”
The project also marks a significant milestone for the Javi Group as it continues to diversify its business interests through the development of a dedicated hospitality vertical. Vibhor Jain, Director, Javi Home said, “We are thrilled to partner with Accor to introduce the Fairmont brand to Rishikesh. The location has enormous long‑term potential, and we think Fairmont’s tradition of providing opulent hospitality is a wonderful fit with the area’s natural beauty, spiritual past, and increasing attractiveness to discerning tourists. Together, we hope to establish a historic location that would raise the bar for opulent hospitality in Uttarakhand.”
Fairmont is continuing to expand its footprint in India. Its existing portfolio includes Fairmont Jaipur and Fairmont Mumbai, while Fairmont Udaipur and upcoming properties in Shimla Fagu, Goa and Agra form part of the brand’s growing pipeline in the country.
Accor currently operates 75 hotels across India and South Asia spanning luxury, premium, midscale and economy segments. Its regional portfolio includes brands such as Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, ibis and ibis Styles. Ennismore, which represents the group in the lifestyle segment, recently expanded its regional presence with the opening of Roswyn, a Morgans Originals hotel, in Mumbai.
