Marriott International revealed a partnership with CG Hospitality Global to launch the Series by Marriott collection in Greater China, further advancing the global growth of its select‑service offering.
According to the deal, CG Hospitality Global will collaborate with Marriott to build roughly 100 Series by Marriott hotels throughout Greater China within the next decade, with the inaugural four slated to debut by late 2026.
Introduced worldwide in May 2025, Series by Marriott serves as Marriott International’s select‑service collection brand. Grounded in the idea of ‘Regionally Created, Globally Connected’, it blends comfortable, affordable lodging with locally inspired aesthetics while letting hotels keep their local character.
“We are excited to partner with CG Hospitality Global to launch Series by Marriott in Greater China, where demand for high‑quality, affordable accommodation is rising. As a new collection brand, Series by Marriott will expand our appeal to value‑focused travelers, offer more options for Marriott Bonvoy members and guests, and create fresh partnership prospects for local hotel operators. By committing to deliver well‑located, fairly priced rooms with solid fundamentals, we trust the brand will satisfy shifting traveler expectations and boost Marriott’s growth throughout Greater China.”
Under the partnership, several Arro Khampa boutique resorts operated by CG Hospitality Global are set to become part of the Series by Marriott lineup. Situated in southwest China, Arro Khampa is celebrated for its distinctive architecture and deep cultural roots. The initial four properties will maintain their individual brand identity and local flavor while joining the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program and global distribution network, giving guests a harmonious mix of local appeal and global hospitality excellence.
“During the last two years, Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global have built a relationship founded on trust and a mutual goal of widening access to premium hospitality. Launching Series by Marriott in Greater China represents a key milestone in that collaboration and shows our belief in the market’s long‑term prospects. Together, we aim to extend our presence throughout the region, honor local traditions and culture, and provide memorable experiences that resonate with both guests and the surrounding communities.”
Since 2024, Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global have teamed up on various hospitality initiatives across Asia and the Middle East. The partnership kicked off with The Farm at San Benito in the Philippines under the Autograph Collection banner, then moved to a landmark agreement in India coinciding with the worldwide launch of Series by Marriott, eventually bringing over 115 Fern Hotels & Resorts — totaling more than 8,000 rooms — into the brand’s fold. The collaboration has since grown to encompass projects like JW Marriott Residences in Dubai, Ritz‑Carlton and Westin in Nepal, JW Marriott in India, and Arro Khampa becoming a Series by Marriott property in China.
As a select‑service collection brand, Series by Marriott unites established hotels that have deep regional ties and distinctive local flair. Aimed at travelers who want comfortable lodging at great value, the brand honors each destination’s unique character while providing quality accommodations backed by Marriott’s consistent global standards. Guests staying at Series by Marriott properties can also enjoy the perks of Marriott Bonvoy, the company’s award‑winning loyalty program. As of Q1 2026, the brand operates 55 hotels worldwide, with another 37 in development across various markets.
“The select‑service segment is among the fastest‑growing areas in China today, driving demand for adaptable, efficient, and systematic solutions to sustain growth. Introducing Series by Marriott in the region is a strategic move that aligns with these market trends and addresses owners’ requirements. Series by Marriott will mainly act as a conversion‑friendly option within Marriott’s select‑service lineup, opening new growth pathways in that segment. Supported by Marriott’s operational expertise, worldwide distribution network, and top‑tier loyalty program, the brand offers local hotel groups and owners in Greater China added chances to maximize the value of their existing assets and spur long‑term growth.”
