Summit Hotels & Resorts Opens Summit Signature Retreat Pangthang In Gangtok

Summit Hotels and Resorts has inaugurated the Summit Signature Retreat Pangthang in Gangtok, introducing its first dedicated retreat property in Sikkim. The 38-room hillside sanctuary sits at an elevation in Pangthang, providing panoramic vistas of the Eastern Himalayas, including direct views of Mount Kanchenjunga.

Nestled among pine forests and rugged terrain, the retreat caters to visitors prioritizing tranquility, privacy, and meaningful connections with nature. Despite its proximity to Gangtok’s urban center, the property’s secluded perch creates a serene atmosphere distanced from metropolitan bustle.

Sumit Mitruka, Founder & Managing Director of Summit Hotels and Resorts, shared: “There’s increasing interest among travelers for nature-centric experiences that transcend traditional tourism in Gangtok. This retreat embodies our refined approach to mountain hospitality, where environmental consciousness, wellness, and local culture converge organically. This development reinforces our commitment to Northeast India and our strategy of creating memorable destination properties.”Summit Signature Retreat Pangthang In Gangtok

The property presents 38 accommodations spanning superior rooms to luxury suites, each featuring personal balconies framing Himalayan scenery. Select suites incorporate separate living areas, ideal for extended visits. In alignment with sustainable principles and regional climate patterns, rooms omit conventional amenities like air conditioning and minibars.

Wellness programming forms the core guest experience, featuring a spa with specialized therapies alongside curated spaces for yoga and meditation. These offerings aim to facilitate rejuvenation amidst the property’s peaceful setting and dramatic mountain backdrop.Summit Signature Retreat Pangthang In Gangtok

Dining options include a venue serving Sikkimese specialties alongside global cuisine, complemented by a sun deck with Kanchenjunga views. Event facilities encompass a 5,000-square-foot banquet space for corporate functions, wellness retreats, and social gatherings accommodating up to 500 attendees.

This opening expands the Summit Signature Series—a collection emphasizing experience-oriented properties distinguished by intentional design and cultural authenticity. The retreat reinforces the group’s Northeast presence, serving leisure travelers and wellness enthusiasts exploring Sikkim’s Himalayan landscapes.
