Chola partners with Sightsavers India to launch Rural Eye Health Project in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh

Sambhal, 27 September 2025: Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited (Chola), the financial services arm of the Murugappa Group, has collaborated with Sightsavers India to launch the Rural Eye Health Project in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. This initiative aims to enhance eye health services and reduce preventable blindness in rural communities through accessible eye care solutions.

The project addresses the region’s critical eye health challenges, exacerbated by limited healthcare infrastructure and low awareness. It will strengthen primary care systems, conduct community outreach, and establish sustainable referral networks for advanced treatments.

Targeting measurable outcomes, the initiative aims to screen over 16,000 individuals and perform 2,800+ cataract surgeries. Mobile outreach teams will visit remote villages with diagnostic tools, ensuring timely care for underserved populations.
