Axis Bank announced plans to raise ₹5,000 crore through non-convertible debentures in a regulatory filing on Friday. The offering comprises a base issuance of ₹2,000 crore with an additional green shoe option of ₹3,000 crore. This move follows the bank’s broader strategy to mobilize ₹35,000 crore through private debt placements. Earlier quarterly results showed a 26% year-on-year net profit decline to ₹5,090 crore for Q2 FY26, driven by exceptional provisions for standard assets, increased operational costs, and subdued growth in core income.
