Bank of Baroda (BoB) has been honored with the “Best Bank in India” title at The Banker magazine’s “Bank of the Year Awards 2025 – Asia-Pacific.” The publication, part of the Financial Times Group, highlighted the bank’s initiatives to enhance customer experience through expanded use of phygital branches that integrate in-person and digital services.
These hybrid branches enable customers to swiftly access statements, generate income tax certificates, and update account nominee details. For personalized assistance, users can initiate video consultations with staff for guidance on loans and deposits, while universal service desks address more intricate banking requirements in person.
The bank further strengthened its physical footprint by inaugurating 184 new branches nationwide. To empower small businesses, BoB introduced the Smart OD facility, streamlining access to working capital financing. Corporate clients also benefit from rapid financing solutions based on B2B transaction data from GST returns or current accounts, with digital approvals enabling disbursal within 24 hours. This approach fosters financial inclusion for previously underserved segments.
In retail banking, BoB launched liquid fixed deposits that offer higher interest rates while maintaining the withdrawal flexibility of savings accounts. Customers can withdraw funds without sacrificing interest earnings on the remaining balance.
Managing Director and CEO Debadatta Chand emphasized the institution’s dedication: “Bank of Baroda remains steadfast in advancing inclusive growth, supporting national development initiatives, and strengthening India’s global economic presence.”
