Bank of India (BoI) secured ₹2,500 crore on Wednesday through Basel III-compliant Tier II bonds, pricing them at a coupon rate of 7.28%.
The offering comprised a base issue of ₹1,000 crore with an oversubscription option of ₹1,500 crore.
The public sector lender attracted 68 bids totaling ₹4,982 crore via the NSE Electronic Bidding Provider Platform, accepting 29 bids worth ₹2,500 crore.
In its statement, the bank clarified the capital raise strengthens its regulatory compliance with RBI guidelines and reinforces long-term financial stability.
BoI confirmed these funds will not finance specific projects but will bolster general banking operations and business activities.
