Changi Airport ‘T5 in the Making’ exhibition takes visitors into Singapore’s aviation future 

As Singapore’s award-winning Changi International Airport develops its Terminal 5 (T5) — part of its 1,080-hectare Changi East development — a new exhibition has opened on January 6, and will run till March 2026, taking visitors into the aviation future of Singapore.

Titled ‘T5 in the Making’, this immersive exhibition was inaugurated on January 5 by Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance Jeffrey Siow. It invites visitors to discover the vision, design, and innovations behind the upcoming Terminal 5. The exhibition venue is: Changi Airport, Terminal 3 Level 1 Arrival Hall.

The free-to-all exhibition is jointly organised by the Ministry of Transport (MOT), the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), and the Changi Airport Group (CAG).

The exhibition’s launch event was attended by Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of National Development, as well as various members of the airport community.

Marking the ‘T5 in the Making’ exhibition opening, minister Siow wrote on Instagram how and why Changi Airport was among the best.

“Many Singaporeans who travelled overseas by air during the year-end holidays would have been reminded of the world-class passenger experience at Changi. This did not happen by chance. It is the result of long-term planning, careful design, and the steady efforts of our aviation community over many years,” he wrote.

“The exhibition shows how we are carrying that same mindset forward, as we design Terminal 5 to meet future needs, support new ways of travelling and working, and shape the next chapter of Singapore aviation,” his post added.

What is Changi Airport T5?

Terminal 5 is a project undertaken by the Changi Airport Group, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, and the Ministry of Transport. T5 will be linked to the other terminals at Changi Airport, allowing the expanded Changi Airport to be operated as a single, integrated airport for ease of transfer between different terminals with airfield operational efficiency. New facilities, such as navigation aids, airfield lighting systems and a fire station will also be constructed.

In an Instagram post yesterday, minister Sun Xueling explained the importance of T5: “Changi Airport Terminal 5 will drive the next phase of growth in our aviation sector, ready to meet future air travel demand. T5 will be a customer-centric, smart and sustainable airport terminal.

“The new terminal will feature one of Singapore’s largest rooftop solar panels. It will also harness AI and automation, from autonomous vehicles and robotics, to using AI to enhance operations. This also means new job opportunities in areas such as data science, systems operations and sustainability.”

15,000 visitors already signed up

Entry to the ‘T5 in the Making’ exhibition is free, but since it is being held within the Arrival Hall area of T3, prior registration is necessary to get a pass to the exhibition.

A Changi Airport media release informed: “Since registration opened to the public on 15 December 2025, 15,000 visitors have registered for tickets to the exhibition.”

Five experiences, one Changi story

‘T5 In the Making’ offers a unique perspective on how aviation has shaped Singapore’s story and continues to drive its growth into the future with T5.

Visitors can experience Changi Airport’s bold journey and future vision through five zones: from the airport’s strategic shift from Paya Lebar to Changi, to an experiential look at T5’s design, scale, and innovations.

The exhibition showcases technologies being explored to address manpower; ageing population; and climate change challenges.

Interactive Artificial Intelligence helps visitors imagine future experiences at T5 and view detailed scale models of T5 and the larger Changi East development.

How to book free tickets

Those interested in experiencing ‘T5 in the Making’ are invited to register for a visit slot at https://www.changiairport.com/t5-in-the-making. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and each booking can accommodate up to five persons. Visitors may reserve a visit slot up to 30 days in advance. Walk-in visits will be accepted, subject to available capacity.
