Emirates NBD of Dubai said it will start its open offer on June 1 to purchase as much as a 26 % share of RBL Bank from the public at ₹282.38 each, per the offer document lodged with the stock exchanges.
* Shareholders may submit their shares beginning June 1, with the offer winding down on June 12.
* The ₹282.38 price incorporates ₹2.38 of interest and represents roughly a 15 % discount to RBL Bank’s Friday closing level.
* If fully taken up, the deal would amount to about ₹117.35 billion.
* Indian takeover regulations mandate an open offer when an acquirer seeks a sizable holding in a listed firm, giving public investors a chance to exit.
* In October, Emirates NBD revealed its intention to acquire a controlling interest in the Indian bank for roughly US$3 billion, marking one of the biggest cross‑border transactions in India’s finance industry.
* The Reserve Bank of India gave the go‑ahead in April, and the government granted its approval last week. (Reporting by Nishit Navin; Edited by Shilpi Majumdar)
