Intellect Design Arena signals strategy around ‘AI-first banking’

2 min read

Intellect Design Arena, headquartered in Chennai, is shifting from traditional digital banking solutions to an AI‑First Banking approach via its eMACH.ai platform, focusing on enterprise‑wide AI, strong governance, and explainability instead of isolated AI pilots.

According to Intellect Design Arena’s FY25‑26 annual report, banks are progressively integrating AI throughout their enterprise functions.

“This transition continues to unlock substantial opportunities in consumer banking, wholesale banking, payments, treasury, wealth management, insurance, and enterprise AI,” the report noted.

The firm observed that inside enterprises, AI use is moving from trial projects to full‑scale production, with clients demanding clear business results, robust governance, and explainable AI rather than mere AI features.

Despite broader economic uncertainties, Intellect noted that banks worldwide are raising investments in AI‑native platforms, cloud migration, payment modernization, and core banking upgrades, a trend it expects to drive sustained growth.

In terms of business lines, wholesale banking accounted for 46% of FY26 revenue, consumer banking for 35%, and the combined wealth, insurance, and AI segments made up the remaining 17%.

Intellect Design Arena reported FY26 operating revenue of ₹3,038 crore, up from ₹2,500 crore in FY25, while consolidated profit after tax rose from ₹334 crore to ₹343 crore.
