Dibyajyoti Pattanaik, the newly appointed chairperson of the Microfinance Industry Network (MFIN), observes that the MFI sector’s loan portfolio is improving, liquidity is rebounding, and the groundwork for lasting expansion is solid.

He added, “Going ahead, our priority should be responsible growth, building stronger confidence with regulators and financiers, and making sure microfinance remains a strong driver of financial inclusion nationwide.”

Gyan Mohan, the newly appointed vice‑chairperson of MFIN, pointed out that microfinance has changed millions of lives by delivering financial access to those who need it most, especially women and marginalized groups.

He said, “As the industry moves into its next growth stage, I am dedicated to keeping client protection at the heart of all our actions.”

Pattanaik, who serves as director of Annapurna Finance Pvt. Ltd., and Gyan Mohan, director and CEO of Adi Chitragupta Finance Ltd., received their appointments as chairperson and vice‑chairperson of MFIN during the 17th annual general meeting held in Gurgaon on Friday.

MFIN is a self‑regulatory organization recognized by the Reserve Bank of India, representing NBFC‑MFIs, banks, small finance banks, and NBFCs.

Alok Misra, CEO and director of MFIN, remarked, “The sector is slowly coming out of a difficult phase, showing notable discipline and resilience. MFIN continues to strengthen the ecosystem via policy advocacy, SRO supervision, capacity building, research, and broad‑based initiatives.”
