On Thursday, the State Bank of India (SBI) announced that its central board’s executive committee will convene on May 12 to consider raising capital via the issuance of USD 2 billion (approximately ₹17,000 crore) foreign‑currency bonds in the ongoing fiscal year.
According to a regulatory filing, SBI stated that the executive committee will review the situation and determine whether to raise long‑term funds in one or several tranches, totalling up to USD 2 billion under Reg‑S/144A, via a public offering and/or private placement of fixed‑or‑floating‑rate bonds denominated in US dollars or another major foreign currency for FY 2026‑27.
SBI’s shares ended the day at ₹1,091.80, slipping 0.35 % from the previous close on the BSE.
