Four Seasons appoints Robert Fritz as Executive Chairman

Four Seasons revealed that Robert Fritz will take on the role of Executive Chairman, with founder Isadore Sharp moving into the position of Chairman Emeritus.

Fritz, a longtime executive at Cascade Investment—the majority shareholder of Four Seasons—has been the Board’s Lead Director since 2022. In that capacity, he collaborated with the board and the executive team to shape the company’s long‑term strategy.

In his new role as Executive Chairman, Fritz will keep steering the board and partner closely with President and CEO Alejandro Reynal and the executive leadership team to drive the long‑term strategy, ensuring Four Seasons stays at the forefront of global luxury hospitality.

As Chairman Emeritus, Sharp will stay actively involved with the company he founded over sixty years ago, continuing his longstanding practice of representing the brand, connecting with employees, and preserving the Four Seasons culture rooted in the golden rule.

Sharp said, “Robert and I have long been aligned on what makes Four Seasons special: Its people. As Chairman Emeritus, I remain closely involved with the company and committed to its future. I have great confidence in Robert’s leadership and in the direction the company is taking.”

Michael Larson, Chief Investment Officer of Cascade, said, “Robert shares Issy’s founding vision of Four Seasons. We are pleased that Robert will continue his active engagement with management and key stakeholders in support of the company’s long‑term strategy.”

Sarmad Zok, CEO of Kingdom Hotel Investments, said, “Kingdom has been a committed investor in Four Seasons since 1994, and we have seen the company grow into the defining name in global luxury hospitality. We warmly welcome Robert Fritz as Executive Chairman and extend our deepest respect to Isadore Sharp, whose golden rule philosophy remains the foundation of everything Four Seasons represents.”

Alejandro Reynal, President and Chief Executive Officer, Four Seasons, said, “Robert has been a deeply engaged and trusted partner to me and our leadership team. He shares our long‑term view and our commitment to leading with intention, protecting what defines Four Seasons as we continue to grow.”

Fritz said, “As a steward of the brand, I look forward to continuing to support Alejandro and the management team in maintaining the reputation of excellence Four Seasons has earned over the past 65 years. Long‑term decision making and a people‑centric culture will continue to guide this company forward and add value to all of our stakeholders.”

Four Seasons remains a privately held company, with Cascade Investment as the majority shareholder, together with Kingdom Holding Company and Isadore Sharp via Triples Holdings Limited.

Today the brand runs over 130 properties around the world and keeps expanding its luxury hospitality footprint via an active development pipeline aimed at long‑term growth and innovation.
