Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has expanded its footprint in Bhutan with the launch of Taj Gangtey Resort and Spa in Phobjikha. This project reinforces the ongoing collaboration between IHCL and CG Hospitality Global, part of CG Corp Global.

Nestled in the tranquil Phobjikha valley, the 35-key property harmoniously blends the valley’s natural serenity into its design. Guests can relax at The Chang Lounge and Bar, featuring curated beverages near a fireplace, or savor local cuisine at Vista restaurant, styled with regional architecture. Facilities include a J Wellness Circle Spa offering holistic therapies, an indoor heated pool, a fitness center, and guided yoga sessions. The resort curates immersive experiences such as monastery tours, meadow explorations, and black-necked crane viewing opportunities.

Puneet Chhatwal, MD & CEO of IHCL, commented: “The debut of Taj Gangtey Resort and Spa aligns with our strategy to strengthen regional operations. Bhutan’s successful blend of cultural heritage and natural landscapes makes it a premier global destination. We’re pleased to collaborate with Happiness Resort and Spa, a joint initiative between Anan Gurung and CG Hospitality.”

CG Corp Global Chairman Dr. Binod Chaudhary and CG Hospitality CEO Rahul Chaudhary stated: “Phobjikha embodies untouched Himalayan beauty. Through our partnership, we’ve created a hospitality experience that respectfully integrates with local ecosystems and traditions.”

Anan Gurung, CEO of Happiness Resort and Spa, added: “Taj Gangtey Resort and Spa reflects Bhutan’s cultural essence and mountain spirit. Partnering with such an esteemed brand allows us to share Bhutan’s heritage with discerning travelers.”

The Phobjikha valley remains renowned for its unspoiled meadows, cultural preservation, and ecological significance within Bhutan’s tourism landscape.

Current collaborations between IHCL and CG Hospitality include properties across Bhutan (Taj Paro Resort and Spa), Maldives (Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, Taj Coral Reef Resort and Spa), Sri Lanka (Taj Samudra), Dubai (Taj Jumeirah Lakes Towers), Nepal (Vivanta hotels), and wildlife lodges under Taj Safaris in South Asia.
