Marriott International has finalized a significant partnership with Masterise Group for four new hospitality properties in Vietnam, including one residential offering. This expansion will add nearly 1,900 rooms across luxury, premium, and select-tier properties in strategic locations throughout the country.
The properties will strengthen Marriott’s presence in key Vietnamese markets. The partnership will debut The Ritz-Carlton brand in Ho Chi Minh City through a luxury hotel and residential complex. An eco-resort development in Can Gio will incorporate both JW Marriott and Four Points by Sheraton brands, complementing the district’s tourism potential. Hanoi will welcome its first Marriott Hotel offering event facilities and cultural programming.
The agreement was formalized by Gautam Bhandari, Marriott International’s APEC Chief Development Officer, and Nelly Phuong Ta of Masterise Group. This collaboration aligns with Masterise’s strategic move into hospitality ahead of their new hospitality division’s 2025 launch.
“Our partnership with Masterise reflects a shared commitment to excellence,” stated Bhandari. “These landmark developments aim to deliver distinctive experiences that meet international brand standards while serving both domestic and international travelers.”
The proposed Co Loa Marriott Hotel will become Hanoi’s premier meetings destination adjacent to the National Exhibition & Convention Center. Spanning 494 rooms (starting at 40m²), plans include multiple dining venues, leisure facilities, and 3,000 square meters of function space focused on incorporating Vietnamese cultural elements.
Within the expansive Can Gio Coastal Urban Tourism Area, the dual-branded JW Marriott and Four Points by Sheraton will comprise 780 rooms and suites alongside 1,800m² of event space. The JW Marriott will feature wellness-focused amenities including a signature spa, while the Four Points will offer family-friendly recreational areas.
The Ritz-Carlton Saigon will bring transformative hospitality experiences to Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1. Plans include 231 hotel rooms plus 420 residences showcasing elevated design, dining, and wellness concepts.
“These developments represent more than hospitality infrastructure,” explained Nelly Phuong Ta. “They’re economic catalysts that blend cultural preservation with progressive tourism strategies, reinforcing our commitment to positioning Vietnam as a world-class destination.”
This expansion adds to Marriott’s existing portfolio of 29 Vietnam properties across 12 brands. With over 30 further locations planned, the company continues strengthening its presence in key urban centers and emerging destinations nationwide.
Masterise Group’s strategic diversification includes major infrastructure projects supporting Vietnam’s development goals, including aviation enhancements and urban connectivity improvements in Ho Chi Minh City and Bac Ninh province.
