IHG Hotels and Resorts expands Nepal portfolio with Crowne Plaza Lumbini, opening in 2026

IHG® Hotels & Resorts announced a new management agreement with Lumbini Heritage Limited for Crowne Plaza Lumbini. Set to open in 2026, this marks the brand’s second property in Nepal, reinforcing its premium hospitality footprint across South Asia.

Located near the sacred pilgrimage destination of Lumbini, the hotel will cater to spiritual travelers and MICE visitors, including those from nearby Indian regions like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Situated four kilometers from the main pilgrimage complex and 18 kilometers from Gautam Buddha Airport, the strategically positioned hotel will fill a gap in the market for internationally branded accommodations.

The property will offer 137 premium rooms and 10 suites upon completion. Additional facilities will include adaptable event venues and a banquet hall designed to host diverse gatherings.
